I'm slowly trying out the new features, just did an image, where content aware fill came in very handy lol.

Also been playing with content aware … I think I’ve found a trick.
If you try to remove the left Golf Cart … You get too much content aware fill.

If you select the area that you want without the cart .. and make a new layer.
Erase anything that you don’t want included in the fill .. Then select the cart and fill it.
This will restrict what Content Aware will use as the fill
Then turn on both layers.

In an example of trying to remove the Red Golf Cart .. There's not enough "fill" on the left.
So .. using sample all layers .. I cloned some fill from another part of the picture that I wanted it to use in the new layer.

This may sound complicated .. But it's easier/faster that trying to clone out the Cart .. Since PS will try to some blending.

The trick is trying to figure out how PS is Thinking

Yea lol I discovered that last night, by limiting what content aware can sample from, you generally get better results. I also had an image element that I drew a rough selection around and aware filled, result was so so. I went back, made a perfect selection and the result was 100x better.

Also, if anyone else would like to show their work or investigations in PS CS5, post here if you like.

I like to make the selection in Quick Mask mode ..
It seems easier when using a mouse to make a better/close selection.
I can zoom in to get closer .. and move around with the SpaceBar/Hand tool

You are extremely talented, the most I can do in PS is make avatars/simple signatures. Must have taken a lot of patience to become this knowledgeable and skilled.

Content aware can be helpful in some situations.
The new "Preview" in the Clone Tool Brush seems worthless to me .. and can be turned off.
But .. the Clone tool now is very slow responing to source Alt+Clicks ....
and I'm finding it very annoying to have to Wait.
I may be going back to CS2 .. and use CS5 only when I know I'm going to be needing Content Aware.

i've heard they remove animation in CS5 from CS4 . Is that true?

Wrong ... Open an animated gif directly in CS5 and you get the animated frames.
No need to open it as a movie anymore ... 2 Clicks and I'm there ..
But in Windows 7 .. You need to have Irfanview to customize the R Click context menus to see this menu

I’ve notice that there is a delay when using the CS5 Clone tool ..
and doing an ALT+Click to establish a source point for the Clone.

According to the Tutorials for CS2 …
The best way to work is with many new source points in many situations ..
I’ve got used to flying fast using my thumb on the Alt key .. And this delay is very annoying.

I’ve tried turning Off the Clone Brush Preview .. and this doesn’t help.
Does anyone else see this delay ???
