browser history not working windows 7

My browser history is not working on my Windows 7 Home . 64bit.I had IE9 installed on my computer(Laptop) about 3-4 weeks ago. But now, my browser history window has stopped tracking my browsing.
Can someone suggest help?

Hello Dr who, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Double check using step 4A in OPTION ONE of the tutorial below to make sure that you have both the Address bar and Browsing history box checked.

Ok, next check these items.

• Delete browsing history on exit turned off
• If you have a program like CCleaner installed, then make sure it's set to not delete your browsing history.
• Open Internet Options > General Tab > Browsing History > Settings, and make sure that your disk space usage is set to at least 250 MB (default).

It seems that the only browser history that is being remembered by my Browser History window is with My computer activity. IE, if I pull up a picture from my Pictures file, It is logged into the browser History window.

Hmm, ok. Just to be certain that we are on the same page, could you post a screenshot of where it's no longer showing your browsing history at?

Like I say, the browser window is not recording any browsing activity from me surfing the web. It used to a couple days ago.

I have this same problem,,, clear your cache and it willl again start saving your browsing history,, try adjusting disk space (where red arrow is in below image) use to save history for a longer amount of time, try like 400mb maybe.

Do you happen to have Internet Explorer in InPrivate Browsing mode? If you do, it will have a blue InPrivate box to the left of the address bar, and will not record your browsing history while in InPrivate Browsing mode.

If not, then you might see if completely resetting IE9 may help.

I had a similar problem in IE9. The History tab in Favourites seemed to be ok, but the history web sites was not shown in the web address field (http://www..............).
In the Manage Add-ins the Web Search Provider must not be empty. In my case it probably disappered when I did a IE restore settings. I added Google as my Web Search Provider and now the web site history can be seen in the web address field (http://www..............).
