BSOD 0x0000124

Since 6 + 2 doesn't match what I found at the MSI site, then possibly I read incorrectly.

Do you have the box the mobo came in or any kind of documentation giving further info on the mobo designation.

One possibility is that SIW will give more info. I've found SIW to be stronger in some areas than SPECCY.

Link to SIW is in my signature.

The bios is out of date yes. I downgraded it as part of troubleshooting, because the MSI fanclub board said this BIOS revision is most compatible with my setup. The downgrade did not solve or cause any issues.

To clarify, troubleshooting steps i have taken include.

1. stripping system down to bare minimum, including all default clock speeds. (on-board graphics, 1stick of ram and only the system drive)

2. Changing main drives. (cloning the C: disk from one drive to another as well as complete OS reinstall)

3. Testing different DIMM (patriot, A-data, corsier and Kensington)

4. Driver testing. (graphics, mainboard, storage, RAID)

5. BIOS downgrade.

during my troubleshooting i went to the OCZ forums to seek their professional guidance. OCZ has an employee moderated and run section of their forums, for assisting people in adjusting the clocks, voltage and timings of their memory per the customers system specifications. The settings i operate my memory on are per their recommendation. I am currently set to all default settings for the time being though as you requested.)

I then stumbled upon the MSI Fanclub board, where they had an immersive list of guides and information on just about anything you can think of. That is where is was recommended to me that i use the bios revision that i am on. (they even have special custom software available to help)

All this and i still haven't pinpointed the issue. The blue-screens are very sporadic. At times i can go hours, even days without one. Then with no re-creatable circumstance they will happen almost constantly.

I may mention the bluescreens are specific to this system build but i have had issues using more than 2 sticks of ram (instability and now the inability to even POST with more than 2) with one board prior to this one. The only constants between the two builds are 1. CPU, 2. RAM and 3. Power supply. Also drive H: the WD drive is from my prior build as well.

As i have trouble shot the RAM and the HDD configuration, including bare-bones analysis. Im left to believe my instability has to stem from either, power issues or some form of CPU failure. I just want the help to be certain.

Is there any more information i can provide?

Does SIW show more designation info regarding your board.

Personally, I would go with the latest bios always.
What a fan club has to say isn't the same as what a mfg says. I'll always take the mfg over a fan club.

But then I have worked for manufacturers.

SIW gives tons more information than speccy. None of it differs from what speccy said though and im not sure any of the extra is relevant. what are we looking for specifically? I took a screen cap of something i thought looked important.

Perhaps I'm going to the wrong site, but when I go to:
MSI USA ? Mainboard

two boards are shown but I've not seen those numbers anywhere.

MSI does also say that there specs are not necessarily current. To be honest, I'm not impressed with MSI but they have many users.

I found the source of the blue screens I believe. My motherboard is refusing to keep the timing for my ram. I've noticed that setting it manually upon boot will yield a perfect stable boot. But after powering down then back up, the timings are random again and it's unstable. I still have no use of either if the second dimm slots per channel as well. I seriously seem to have the worst luck with computers :(

One last thing you can try:
Replace the Power Supply Unit with a hefty unit.
If that fails to solve the problem, then replace the motherboard. I recommend ASUS.

Everyone recommends Asus lol. I just can't afford what I'd want from them. My psu 730w with 2 24a 12v rails. When I look at the pull I show that it's providing power to spare. Is there any way to test it and see if the readings are wrong?

Asus offers a wide variety of boards.

You can't afford not to buy ASUS, in my opinion.

Adequate testing of a power supply requires a specialized test setup and then the knowledge to know how to use same.
