Hello again (again) Guys,

ok after a month with no BSODs my system started to give me the same BSODs I had a month ago. I made a Topic a month ago... here is the link (http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-...4e-pfn_list_cortupt-mainly-while-booting.html). The problem was solved back then (or it just stoped by itself...) after I updated some drivers/windows. But yeah... it started again yesterday with 0x4E again and after a reboot I got a 0x1A. They happend with the system running for quite a while (4+hrs) and not while booting like they did before. So it seems like they are not connected to the booting this time around. I checked both BSODs and they are both (again) RAM related so the first thing I did was a Memtest86+ overnight.

Stick 1+2 in Slot A1/B1, 9.5hrs, 14 Passes without any errors. I will take the 2nd Stick out tonight and will test the 1st stick alone over the night. Will see if that gets me some errors.

I also did /chkdsk and sfc /scannow without errors.

I also checked the Temps again, during the last month I bought a new Case/PSU and new Fans so now the idletemp is ~28°C for the GPU and ~27°C for the CPU. Under load the GPU gets up to ~72°C (tested with FurMark) and the CPU goes to ~53°C (tested with Prime95). So I guess its not Temp related.

Basic System Infos:

OS: Windows 7 Prof x64 retail (University Licence)
Age: System was bought around January/February so Hardware and OS are from that time.

Motherbord: ASUS P7P55D Rev 1
CPU: Intel Core i5 760
RAM: G.Skill F3-12800CL9-2GBNQ 4gig
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460
HDD: 500gig Samsung HD501LJ (the only old component in the system its ~4y old)

Hello sevenforums folks,

I'm sorry for necroing this thread but I have the same issues again. After my first post the problems vanished shortly after (and because nobody answered here I tried to fix them myself by updating drivers and stuff). But... they appeared again, this time after a pause of roughly 2 months (24.11.2011 - 16.1.2012). The BSODs are again the old 0x4E and now more and more 0x1A. Because both are related to RAM I already re-run MemTest86+ with both Sticks in their slots... after 9 hours I had no errors... but I guess I will start to re-run the "single stick" testing... I never got to that stage because the problem always solved itself after a few days.

I also re-ran chkdsk and sfc without any errors. Temps are the still the same (tested it again with Prime95/FurMark).

The only thing I changed in the whole setup was to activate the XMP for my RAM. That changed the CPU to 160Mhz x 18 and the RAM to its intended 1600Mhz. After that change the PC ran stable for one day and then started to give me BSODs again (changed it 17.1.2012, crashed again 19.1.2012).

Also I write this today because a strange thing happend today (19.1.2012 21:36 in the Event Log). The Win 7 Aero crashed without any notice... After I watched in the Event Log I saw that multiple Windows Services had crashed... and that svchost.exe had an error. I also noticed that some of the newer BSODs are related to svchost.exe... but I'm not sure what to make out of that fakt.

I uploaded all the Minidumps and the PerfmonReport + the Report from the sticky to my new post.

First thing first. Remove the OC on your memory and any other OC's you may have.

The majority of the crashes are memory management. This could be bad memory, bad cpu or even possibly a bad driver.

You stated you already ran memtest. I would like you to run it again but follow the instructions from the link below starting at #6
Memory Diagnostics

Code:
dtsoftbus01.sys Mon Oct 17 08:12:30 2011 (4E9C1BAE)
Remove Daemon tools for now. It has caused problems in the past

I notice that thunderbird is the running process in a lot of the crashes. Uninstall it and use IE explorer for now.

Code:
savonaccess.sys Fri Aug 19 10:26:54 2011 (4E4E72AE)
Remove your Sophos AV. It was blamed in a couple crashes. Use MSE as a replacement. Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

For some reason all the text files in your zip have no information in them. Did you run the program as administrator?

Run this test after you've completed the above
Prime95 - Run all three tests for 3-4 hours each or until fail - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-cpu-stress-test-prime95.html

Hello mgroman87 and thanks for the help!

I uninstalled DeamonTools and used SPTDinst to make sure its gone. I uninstalled Thunderbird too. I uninstalled Sophos AV. The moment I tried to restart the PC to finish the uninstall I got an other BSOD (0x4E). I also reset the RAM Settings to Auto and checked that the values are ok.

After restarting I installed MSE and let it update and make a quickscan... during the quickscan I got an other BSOD (0x1A) caused by one of the MSEs processes.

Edit: Added the 2 new Minidumps. Also Thunderbird is always running on my PC... so I guess its natural that the process is in every dumpfile :) uninstalled it anyways.

Edit2: I also tryed and re-run the report... but most txt files are still empty?? I dunno why. I copied the exe to my Documents Folder and ran it as Administrator (I ran it as Admin the first time too...)... the files are still empty.

The crash is actually blaming your ram. I would look into RMA'ing it. Or buying new memory

Well I guess I will order new RAM. I knew that it was RAM related... but I didnt want to order new RAM if other things were a potential cause.

Again thanks for the help. I will report back after the new RAM is here and in the system :)

Will do that now. The order for the new RAM is also out^^

Edit:... will report back with the Verifier on (if it works without giving me instant BSODs)

Edit2: Verifier is up and running. Verified the Verifier xD with verifier /query :)

Ok first crash.

Happend while surfing. I let MSE run in the background (because the quickscan failed the first time because of an BSOD). That also seems to be the process that caused the crash (I took a quick glance at the dump with WinDbg).

Doesn't tell me much. Just that MSE was running. Run Verifier some more but don't do any stressful tasks. Just use it normally.

Ok 2nd Crash.

Only surfing this time, so no stressful tasks. This time a completly new BSOD 0x3B. Looks like its related to the GPU? Because dxgmms1.sys was involved and some info on the net points toward the GPU. Then again there are other posts that suggest that its the RAM...

Edit:

New Crashs... one while surfing. One while trying to post that crash <_< then I got one while it was rebooting... but that didnt create a dumpfile? And then again while booting an other BSOD this time 0xA. Added the files.

Ok new crashs. One while rebooting after a crash that didnt create a dumpfile. And one directly after rebooting after I disabled the Verifier.

Edit: and a new one. added the dumpfile. I'm going to sleep now... its 3:28 in the morning here...

The crashes are all over the place. I would start with replacing the memory and see what happens with that.

Hello mgorman87 and thanks again for the help.

The new RAM Sticks are already orderd and were shiped today, so with some luck I get them tomorrow.

I also did some research and found that rdyboost.sys that caused many of the BSODs is part of the Superfetch Service. And that Superfetch writes Data in your RAM to enable quicker access for Programms that are often used. So I guess the rdyboost.sys errors also point toward the RAM... in the old thread I started I was told that rdyboost.sys is only for things like USB Sticks... so that its possible that they are used as "chache".

Did I understand the whole Superfetch/Rdyboost thing right? If I understood it right I guess that also points to the RAM as source of my errors.

Also about the BSODs being all over the place, is there any indicator that shows what they are related to? Or have they nothing in common?

I'll report back when I get the new RAM and installed it.

lg
Tenhi

Don't know much about rdyboost. The only thing in common that i can see is that it's memory related.

I just recieved my new RAM and installed it without problems, my Motherboard recognized the RAM without my help and set the right values. No crash up till now... but its a little to early to judge the whole case. My PC ran yesterday without 1 crash (with the old RAM).
