Solved BSOD 0x50 Page Fault in Non Paged Area - halmacpi.dll

Good Day,

I am working on a Dell Lattitude E5510 for a family member and have found that the laptop crashes shortly after booting up. It does not crash in safe mode.

I have run CHKDSK /f /r, MemTest, sfc /scannow and swapped out the physical memory sticks to no avail.

Google has failed me in my search for redemption... so I come here to hopefully get some guidance. I used BlueScreenView to check out the .dmp files and they point to halmacpi.dll as the cause.

I have attached the .zip of the crash report as requested.

Your dumps are taking a while to load at my end, so I've told a friend to take a look if they load for him.
Studying the bug check you mention and its usual causes:

STOP 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 
Usual causes:  Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), 
Faulty system service, [COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]Antivirus[/COLOR],  Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS

Problematic software:

Start Menu\Programs\McAfee	Public:Start Menu\Programs\McAfee	Public

McAfee is known to cause BSoDs. Suggest you to uninstall it completely.
Download and install Free MSE, it's free, light weight and does not cause problems on the windows 7 system. Make a full scan once updated.

• Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

Run the System File Checker that scans the the integrity of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:

Then Run Disk Check once again:

I've removed McAfee and rebooted to start the scans, so far its already stayed on longer than it has in the past two days. Looks like that may have been the culprit... but I'll continue the scans and verify after SFC and CHKDSK finish.

That did it. It was all McAfee's fault.
