Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me
I have recently purchased a Sapphire 6870 to replace my Sapphire 4870. I replaced the card the other day after a clean install of Windows 7 to ensure that there were no driver conflicts. I find that when I try to play a game, I sometimes get a screen with grey vertical lines or just a black screen, I then get a 116 BSOD caused by atikmdag.sys... I have read around lots of forums and cannot find a solution for this. I am upto date with the latest drivers. I read that it could be a power issue but I have a 750W PSU. It also happens when I first start up my PC in the morning and if I awaken it from standby. It will sometimes work for me and I will be able to play games fine until my computer goes to sleep or shuts down.
It also sometimes crashes on the desktop.
I have also flashed my BIOS to the latest version and ran memtest on my RAM and everything came out ok.
I am now using my 4870 again and everything is working fine.
I have tried numerous versions of drivers all to no success,
Any help is great, i'm running out of ideas, i'll attach some .dmp files
Thanks,
Dan
