however, i've only found one file in my minidump but my laptop wouldn't allow me to compress the file into a zip folder. any idea how i can upload the dmp file then?

i've ran the free scan from uniblue, think it's called Registry booster. no hardware failure, basically they're from my system software settings (47 errors), ActiveX, OLE and COM sections (277 errors), Invalid file association (36 errors), Shared DLLs (25 errors), Invalid shortcuts (43 errors), User software settings (47 errors0 and File extensions (11 errors).

please come back to me with suggestions asap! thanks. :)

Hi,

Run sfc /scannow from an elevated (run-as-admin) command prompt.

Also run chkdsk /r /f after the system file checker finishes.

What Brand/Model is your laptop?

Regards,
Reventon

Ok. I could not find your exact drive model, but Seagate's Hard Drive Diagnostics covers all models.

Follow the instructions here to test your hard drive hardware: SeaTools | Seagate

okay i've run the short generic, short DST and SMART tests. my harddrive has passed those three.
not sure if more tests are required, i'm running the long DST test now.

is that enough information for a follow-up here? :)

Depends on the size of your drive - probably a few hours for the full chkdsk.

Chkdsk should ask you in that case if you want to do it on the next reboot. Confirm that then reboot the computer to run it.
