I just purchased a brand new custom built desktop computer, and I am getting a BSOD -and consequent auto reboot and attempt to load in safe mode, about 75% of the time my computer goes to sleep either on it's own or if I manually put it to sleep. It happens if I try to wake it through the keyboard or mouse. I've reduced the start up programs, and removed the hibernate option as well (it is no longer visible). I also got rid of the AVG anti virus program that was on it and installed Microsoft Security Essential. It appears I have a genuine Windows installation. So far, I haven't had any luck troubleshooting. Any thoughts? Thank you for any input or guidance, I really appreciate it.

This install of windows is counterfeit, the Product ID matches an HP product key, while the build is clearly a custom build with an OEM mother board, this is only possible through a hackers exploit, please purchase a legal copy of windows then format your drive and re-install using the legal copy.

Dang... so THAT is why the guy won't return my emails

Thank you for the quick response, now I have to decide if I want 7 or 8? Time to scour the forums and see what people have to say.

Again, thank you
