Hello everyone,

Any help greatly appreciated with a BSOD problem I've been having today.

After both instances when my pc had been connected to the tv via HDMI and I disconnected the projector I was presented with a BSOD after shutting down my browser (Firefox).

In both cases the Event Viewer shows that it was an issue with Event ID 41 and Event properties as follows:

EventData

BugcheckCode 59

BugcheckParameter1 0xc0000005

BugcheckParameter2 0xfffff960000f6373

BugcheckParameter3 0xfffff88008be1070

BugcheckParameter4 0x0

SleepInProgress false

PowerButtonTimestamp 0

I have had problems with BSODs before, but they were resolved after changing the drivers of my network adapter (I say change rather than update because it only let me roll back to older versions of the driver and would not let me install a new one, see here: http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/181702-bsod-bugcheckcode-0x000000d1.html). I have been problem-free since, even after having formatted my PC in (if I remember correctly) June 2012.

Thanks very much for looking and any suggestions greatly appreciated (dump files attached if required)!

*edit* Dump files updates as I attached an incomplete zip-file, was told all had been grabbed but then it grabbed some more. */edit*

Hi...

The BSOD-s seem to be caused by very old video drivers:
Code:

Perform a clean install of the drivers:

Sometimes drivers remain, not completely uninstalled. Follow this tutorial for complete removal of drivers of the particular program:
Don't worry about the title ATI Catalyst 'Vista'. These drivers are meant for Win Vis, Win 7 and Win 8 as well. Or go with the ATI automatic detection tool if you prefer.

AVG contributes in BSOD-s. Please uninstall and replace with MSE. AVG removal tool: AVG | Download tools and utilities

Microsoft Security Essentials.

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software. It is free and lightweight:-
   Warning
:ar: Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

Install all updates including Service Pack 1:
Code:
[FONT="Lucida Console"]Windows 7 Kernel Version 7600 MP (4 procs) Free x64
Version	6.1.7600 Build 7600[/FONT]

Perform a System File Check to check the integrity of all protected Windows 7 :
  1. Click on the start :orb:
  2. Type CMD on Search
  3. Left click and Run as Administrator
  4. Type
    Code:
    SFC /scannow
Full tutorial here:
Disk Check on your hard drive for file system errors and bad sectors on it.
Number down items at start-up. Keep only your anti-virus, this also improves the time for logging into windows.

Check for a BIOS update:
Code:
BIOS Version/Date	American Megatrends Inc. R0300Y8, 20/07/2010
Your BIOS dates from 2010. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

Let us know the results and further BSOD reports if any.

Hi koolkat, thanks for asking. I've not had a chance to have a proper sit-down yet to try and sort all of this out, there is so much on the list that it is almost a bit daunting/scary so I want to take my time when I try and do it. But I promise I will let you know as soon as I have!

On the bright side it hasn't happened again since, at least not so far :)

Hi koolkat, not so far, I thought the problem had resolved itself (slthough why would it if I didn't do anything), but it's happened again for a 2nd time this week so good sit down and a look at your suggestions very much required, will probably get on it this weekend. Thanks again.
