Thanks for the welcome from CarlTR6! :D
I have included all documents in the zip file.

Just a brief retrospect of the incident. I upgraded my graphic card, PSU, and add a new game pad to my PC. Shortly after installing the new card, BSOD followed. It always occur when i play Bio Hazard 4. The system freeze and follow by a reboot . The system returns an error code 124. After viewing the dump file, it shows that the problem is caused by driver hal.dll.

I didn’t have any problem with graphic intense games like Crysis. Only until recently, my PC had experienced two unexpected BSOD when i surf the internet.
There are usually two back-to-back BSODs for a particular day, and no more BSODs for the remaining day.

My computer is bought during the Thanksgiving this year, and prior to the upgrade, BSOD had never happened. I really don't know that much about PCs. So Any help would be greatly appreciated>:)

Below is basic system information about my computer:

Original installed include:
Windows Premium 64bit
8GB DDR3 memory
AMD Athlon 635 Quad-core processor
Added/Changed components include:
A new ATI 4670 1G DDR5
A new 430W PSU
An added Logitech gamepad

Another unexpected shutdown

Thanks Yowanvista,
I will run the test tonight.
I also get another unexpected restart when i was away from the PC. I have attached the dump file for it. I didn't get a chance to see if it is caused by BCCode 124. The size of this dump file is different from the rest of dump files.
I ran 3Dmark and passed the test. Do you think it is enough to rule out that the new graphic card is defective?
Thanks again

This one points to your GPU drivers

- Boot into safe mode with networking
- Uninstall the ATI drivers including Catalyst Control Center
- Use driver sweeper to remove leftover ATI display driver files Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
- Reboot in safe mode
- Install the latest drivers http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.HTML
- Reboot into normal mode

If the above does not work test your RAM http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

I ran Memtest86 last night and got 4 and almost 5 passes currently without errors. There are two more BSODs last night both indicating error code of 124. Do you think i shall try another PSU with higher voltage? (The recommanded PSU for ATI HD 5670 is 400W and above, and my PSU is currently at 430W)

But how could the new graphic card and PSU causing these BSODs if they work fine when i play graphic demanding game like Crysis? These BSODs are pretty random, which happens during webing.
Is there a way I can check my voltage settings in BIOS? I have no ideas how to do so. After searching through the internet, many similar problem(Code 124 caused by hal.dll) is caused by incorrect BIOS settings. Maybe the memory, or CPU doesn't get enough power?

Appreciate your help!

Reset all BIOS options to default and test the GPU in another PC is possible

I just opened the case and found the Main power connecter to the motherboard is not firmly connected. My old power supply has 24 pin Main connector, and my new power supply has 20+4pin Main connector. The 4pin is loosely connected to the motherboard. Hopefully that’s the cause of BCCode 124. I will report updates.
Thanks for your help.
