BSOD although most of time PC just freezes (looping sound) or resets

It would seem the people at the shop aren't very knowledgeable. The machine overheats and turns off, as it should, yet they tell you nothing is wrong and take your money. Something is terribly wrong because it should not overheat to the critical point. Did you clean and apply new thermal paste?

Just got my pc back, got a 750w PSU and had it cleaned and replaced the thermal paste, CPU temperature is still over 70o C while browsing within a few minutes of turning it on. The screenshot is from 30 mins of regular use.

Update: after 1 hour of use it turned off and started beeping...last temperature I saw was 96o C.

What should I do now?

Heck mate that is way too close for comfort on that CPU and what cooling do you have in place - have only read last two posts.

I recently had temps like this on my Ivy and it turned out to be the liquid cooler pump failing so hence why we need to know what you have?? ASAP.

Addit The Tcase is 72.7C so the red readout is telling me you have a real problem there

The twisted red cable, what is that? All the cables can severely restrict airflow.

Okay thanks, gonna get the 2 new fans installed, what exactly should I say to the guys at the shop about tidying up the cables? Where exactly should they go?

Put them out of the air flow so the inside of the case is mostly open. Also tell them they didn't help your overheat issues.
An example of a well done cabling job, no wires visible.

The red cables are connected to the HDDs, what kind of coolers should I ask for? Never bought any before. I see that in the pic you posted the PSU is on the bottom, does that help with the temperature? Would there be a problem if I turned my case upside down?

You would need a case which accommodates a bottom mounted PSU, turning one upside down won't help. The SATA cables (red ones) can be replaced whit much shorter ones, enough to reach from the motherboard to the drive, any longer is a wastes and can lower drive performance.

There are 100s available so it will depend on what the shop has. It's difficult to make recommendations with someone else doing the work.

Yes to all that Britton has said and me personally like the newer Coolermaster cases as they have the bottom mounts and some have really nice covers that slide over and "tidy" up the wiring coming from the PSU. I would send you a shot of mine if I were at home and might do tomorrow when I get up.
In the meantime I pulled up a pic to give you an idea of that cover. Oh and get onto tha cooler mate ASAP.

There is also a sort of air funnel attached to the inside of the case, I think it may obstruct the second fan I'm gonna have installed, should I have it removed? It's supposed to funnel the air from the processor cooler to the other side of the case.

Get rid of the funnel it obviously isn't helping. With the better CPU cooler you won't need it.

I ma with that too a lot of flipping fancy gear that is seen to be useful. Nothing beats a good few fans mate.

Ok, so I got my pc back today, I saw it working at the shop, when I got home it wouldn't turn and would beep x2, at the shop they said that problem only happened a couple of times in the span of 2 weeks, finally after trying several times it finally turned on.

They said it wasn't overheating, but just to be safe I had the funnel removed, installed a case fan, didn't get a new cpu fan because they didn't have any there, and also tidied up the cables.

They said the 2 beeps in the motherboard manual meant it was a gpu error, and that it probably was the gpu, but could also be the motherboard reporting wrongly because the problem was the motherboard.

I have my old gpu here, gonna leave it in for a week or so and see if the problem appears again, if so, it should be the motherboard right? The old gpu was fine, only used it for a year or so, then I got the one I have now.

CPU temp is now around 53o C while browsing.

No this points to the GPU being bad. If the board was bad it wouldn't work with either GPU.

My previous GPU went bad after a year while my current one is still lasting after 2 years. With high temperatures I wouldn't be surprised.
