Hello every one:
I've been having trouble with my new machine/windows 7 Ultimate, that is crashing with no apparent reason
I have a Gygabyte GA-p55-ud5 (update the newest BIOS -version F6)
Intel core i7 860, 2.8 GHz
Corsair XMS3 8GB SDRAM DDR3 1333
and EVGA GTX 260
any help would be great.
Hi and welcome
While we are waiting for a specialist at this to come along I took a quick peek at the bottom most dmp file. the probable cause doesn't leave a lot to the imagination.
there are also a couple of drivers that were two or more years old. they surely didnt help
Here are some basic things you can do to imporve your stabilty
1-download memtestx86 and run it for several hours. it is the only app that will make your memory bleed, and heat up to see if heat is the issue.
2-run a system file check to erify and fix system files to run it type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow
3-if you are overclocking STOP
4- if you have a raid update its Driver
Hope this helps in the interim

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050031
