Hello,
I have a user that's getting an APC_INDEX_MISMATCH. From when I was working on her computer, it appeared to happen when I would dock and undock her computer. I previously had disabled hardware acceleration to help fix a different issue. I turned this off and thought it fixed it but didn't. It seems to crash when Windows flashes to adjust the resolution and the program to be maximized and not.

All drivers and BIOS are updated. This is a Dell E7470. This was also a fresh build recently and happened shortly after giving her computer back.

Let me know what else I can provide to you.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi jfranzreb,

Welcome to 7forums.

It looks like the Realtek audio drivers are involved in the crashes.
Update the Realtek audio drivers and let me know how it goes.

Thank you and thanks for the reply. I just updated the audio drivers and asked that the user dock and undock, which is when it seemed to happen most often.

When I hear back I will update you. Cheers.

Dangit. Happened again but I did see a reference to spsys.sys on the screen. Let me know if you need another log dump or anything else. Thanks for your help. I can troubleshoot computers but blue screens... these are tough guys.

Which audio device is in use? Realtek or Intel?
If Realtek, disable Intel display audio in device manager.

Oh hey, so that seemed to fix things. At first when I did a help > about in computer management, it crashed but then was pretty solid after that. The problem is that now, after logging in the mouse can't click on anything sometimes for up to a few minutes so I might just re-image this bastard unless you have an idea... I realize this is off-topic.

Graphic drivers, startup item interfering, low performance.
Those are the things that come first to my mind.

Thanks again axe. Sorry I haven't written in a while. I appreciate your help.

As for the weirdness, this is happening on another machine that I just rebuilt so my co-worker and I think it might be the dock causing the issue. I don't think I need any help going forward. Cheers.

Oh, sorry. :o I guess I didn't think about that. Any other options? Right now I swapped her for a Dell D3100 USB dock and seem to work a lot better.

If you don't get any crashes after swapping the dock, there's no need for other options :)

So now with the new dock (USB) when the user closes her lid, the mouse doesn't work correctly. However, if she keeps the lid open, no issues. Power settings are to do nothing when the lid closes (since she uses dual screens and not, until now, laptop screen). My co-worker thinks we should have Dell swap the mobo but not sure that would solve this. Just seems strange it works when the lid is open but not when closed.
