Hi Tippens.

Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Let us know the results.

The results are clear. but that was to be expected as I did a fresh reinstall of the OS recently.

Any other ideas what it could be?

Why and how it is related with a clean install?

Any other idea what the Sun is? :)

Edit: Checked your earlier thread. http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/286291-i-am-getting-bsod.html
We cannot give you tailor made suggestions that you will like. We can tell you the fact only. It will be expected that you dont create another thread where it will be seen that you havent ever taken the very first suggestion given by SevenForums.

It is hopeless and tiring to suggest the same thing over and over.

I have followed the instructions of the first help. I removed avast and installed ms security then i ran a scan which was clear. I then ran a scan with Malware-bytes which was also clear. All I was saying was i very recently reinstalled the OS so the chance of finding anything off the scan was remote.

Arc,

May I ask a question. Was it in the crash dmp you found the file aswSnx.sys was causing the problem because i looked at it with bluescreen viewer and all it said was a kernel problem.

What you have got by what is not my concern. I checked your crash dumps twice in two different threads, and suggested the same thing in both the threads.

You never accepted the suggestions, and now asking meaningless questions.

I found that helping others is not a good thing all the times; sometimes it becomes heavy, depending on whom you are helping.

Unsubscribing from your threads now. Enough.

Saying it for the last time, I would expect that you will not start another thread with the SAME issue.

People at least take the suggestions on a test basis. And then ask questions.

Arc,

Please just calm down. My other thread was a different computer. I have followed your instruction on both computers. I really appreciate your help. I was just trying to learn something from the experience.

Thanks again.

The tool we use here is WinDBG. It is the only tool that can objectively and reliably trace the cause of BSODS and is far, far superior to BkueScreen view or similar tools.
