Solved BSOD at random times, happening frequently

I've been getting the BSOD frequently, and when I use Windows to "check for a solution", it does not give me any information. I haven't installed any new drivers that I know of or can remember, and my computer is less than 2 years old. It used to do the BSOD only once a month or so, so I ignored it, but it seems like it is increasingly frequent.
Sometimes it crashes while I'm in the middle of doing something, but most often I will leave my computer running and when I come back, I have the BSOD. Sometimes it happens when I close the lid (which is supposed to put it in sleep mode) and I won't realize it has happened until I open the lid to turn it back on.

Thanks, Arc! I successfully updated the NVIDIA driver, so hopefully that will fix everything. I'll report back if it crashes again, but in the meantime I'll mark this as solved.

Okay, so unfortunately the problem is still occurring. I tried to shut down my computer last night, and it froze on the shut down screen. The wheel kept spinning, and it said "Shutting Down", but the computer just sat like that for 20 minutes, and then I got a BSOD and had to shut it down via the power button. Any ideas? My computer occasionally hangs on the shut down screen like that, so I don't know if the two problems are somehow connected.

• Download and install Driver Fusion.
• Reboot the computer in Advanced Boot Options, safe mode. Search Driver Fusion in your start menu, and remove all components of your nVidia display driver.
• Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, Drivers > Beta and Legacy; search there with your cards particulars for GeForce 306.23 Driver, dated 13.9.2012 and install it.

BTW, I see that you are shifting between onboard graphics and the card.

Okay, I installed that Nvidia driver and updated the Intel driver as well. So far, so good. It was able to restart several times during the different install processes without incident, and I just tried to shut it down and it did not show any freezing or BSOD. Hopefully this fixes it, thanks!
