it found that so ill be running again
CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the volume bitmap.
Windows has made corrections to the file system.
so the bsod was caused by the harddrive? should i have the hard drive RMA'd?

Not sure the hard drive is bad yet. You should run some further diagnostics on it once you clean up the file system issues. Run SeaTools for Windows to check whether the drive is functioning properly. If you cannot run SeaTools for Windows, run SeaTools for DOS.

i ran chkdsk again and it came up with no errors same with seatoolsDOS short and log test. is there anything else i can try?

i ran full test with MSE and Malwarebytes. MSE came up with nothing and Malware detected something in my steam folder so i removed it. i also got a BSOD last night
perfmon is telling me again that the drive is dirty.i'll run a scan again

Crashes are pointing to graphics card problems and hard disk related issues (as you already said). How did the scan go?

For the graphics card, please check whether AMD Vision Engine Control Center is configured to automatically overclock your graphics card. Sometimes it does so without the user's input and can cause problems. If it is overclocking your graphics card, please disable it.

The chkdsk came up with nothing and AMD overdrive is the thing that overclocks right? If so then that is also disabled. I guess I'll just keep using it until it crashes again.

I'm back again and this computer is nothing of trouble. i decided to post again because i got a new blue screen "RDR_FILE_SYSTEM" and alot of the old ones that i had before. also windows action center is telling me i should install a power management driver should i?

Many of your crashes were DirectX/graphics card related. DirectX comes installed with Windows, so this may indicate Windows corruption. It may also be that you have corrupted drivers or a graphics card hardware problem.

Follow the steps for Diagnosing basic problems with DirectX. To re-install your display card drivers as outlined in the DirectX link, use the following steps.

1. Download the drivers you want for your display card(s)
2. Click Start Menu
3. Click Control Panel
4. Click Uninstall a program
5. For NVIDIA:
   • Uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver (this should uninstall all NVIDIA software and drivers)
   • Restart your computer
   • Make sure NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver, NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player, NVIDIA HD Audio Driver, and NVIDIA PhysX System Software are not still listed under Uninstall a program through Control Panel

     1. Click Start Menu
     2. Right Click My Computer/Computer
     3. Click Manage
     4. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
     5. Expand Display adapters
     6. Do the following for each adapter (in case you have multiple display cards)
        • Right click the adapter
        • Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
        • Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
        
        Alternatively:
        1. Login as an adminstrative user
        2. Click Start Menu
        3. Click Control Panel
        4. Click Hardware and Sound
        5. Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
        6. Expand Display adapters

           • Right click the adapter

Remember to try multiple versions of the graphics drivers, download them fresh, and install the freshly downloaded drivers.

  These are all stop 0x116 VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE conditions.
  
  It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception.
  
  Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash. As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds. If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.
  
  If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating. Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU. Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference. If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

i tried running the sfc and i couldnt get anywhere with it it kept saying
Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.
i kept trying until i got this
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
so i tried again and it wouldnt finished the scan it would stop at different %'s
the cbs files is the one that found corrupt files and the sfcdetails is the last scan i did
i start doing the other steps you gave me

If SFC /SCANNOW will not even finish, I would suggest a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html.

Do steps 1-3 and 5-7 of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 to get installation media if needed, backup the system, and get any license keys in case the repair install does not complete for some reason.

Get the drivers first. First, see what drivers you are missing through device manager. Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

You should install in this order:

1. Antivirus software
2. Graphics drivers from your Graphics card site
3. Chipset Drivers from your Motherboard Support Site
4. Audio Drivers from your Motherboard Support Site

ok I'll do a clean install and do i follow the same order you gave me earlier?

the computer has been running fine i just had 1 bluescreen and it happened right after it woke up from sleep mode. also chrome keeps crashing on me it kept happening on all the clean installs I've done.

Older versions of ASACPI.SYS are a known BSOD problem on Windows 7. Update the driver by:

1. Going to the Asus motherboard support site
   When you reach the website:
2. Scroll down the page and click Utilities
3. Hold Ctrl and press f (ctrl+f) to enter the browser's find feature
4. Search for "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Win7 32&64-bit" (without quotes)
5. Download and install the driver.
6. After installation is complete, verify that it installed correctly.
   • Click Start Menu
   • Click My Computer
   • Go to C:\WIndows\System32\drivers\
   • Verify that the ASACPI.SYS file is dated 2009 or newer (2010,etc.)

Let's check your hardware compatibility: Download and install CPU-Z and Upload screenshots of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs. In the SPD tab, upload an image of each slot.

i updated ASACPI.sys and ran a disk check before i got to take a screen shot cpuz i got a bluescreen right after "desktop managment crashed?"
but i got the screens anyway

now alot of programs are crashing in the background
i couldn't get perfmon to work so i excluded that file

ok i updated the chipset drivers and ran a disk check.
when i was updating the drivers the screen got distorted and crashed.
also i decided to do windows updates and it got stuck so i canceled the installation then i restarted the computer but its been stuck at installing an update for three hours. should i just let it keep running or power off my comp?

You have two mismatched memory modules. I would advise removing one or the other and seeing if the system is then stable.

As you add and remove hardware, follow these steps for ESD safety:

1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.

Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.
