So I just built my first computer a couple weeks ago and everything seemed to be running fine. I always keep my computer on; it's either in sleep/hibernate and never shut down. After finally shutting it down and turning it back on, alot of my programs didn't seem to start or had to reinstall for some odd reason. When starting up Firefox, it constantly gives me the "report crash" window. When starting up programs such as iTunes or Steam, it asks me to reinstall. I then randomly get a BSOD.

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\010710_27050_01.dmp
C:\Users\Jeff\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-41558-0.sysdata.xml

I updated drivers for my video card and was able to play some graphically-intensive games, so there didn't seem to be an issue with my ATI Radeon 5850. I also ran MDSCHED and there were no reported errors for memory, so hopefully that isn't the problem either. Cooling isn't an issue either. No overclocking.

I'm suspecting the ATI drivers may have caused the BSOD's but I'm really unsure to be honest. If it is a hardware issue, I would like to find out as soon as possible so I can RMA the item back to Newegg if something really is faulty. Please point me in the right direction. Minidumps are attached below.

Much thanks. :)

Thanks for linking that thread. I followed all the steps and am pretty sure all of my hardware is working fine. I will test RAM again though.

It is possible that some software I installed is the culprit (#7 in the troubleshoot). If software was the problem, is there an easy to find out which software might have caused the BSOD?

Here is where I would start with all this....bios settings first if you are overclocking set everything to stock speed set SATA controller to IDE check closely your ram voltages speeds and timings check CPU voltage also never rely on auto settings in bios know your hardware specs and adjust settings accordingly.

Also replace any SATA cables then remove any unneeded hardware add on cards and external devices I would also remove some ram get down to 2 gigs of ram as apposed to 6 until you figure things out here

Once you have done all of the above I would reinstall Windows and drivers that's it no other programs and run it for a while for just normal stuff and see what you get and go from there.
