Hi all, wondering if someone can help me. My computer has not been wanting to boot up a lot lately. I've recently had to replace the hard drive in it. Although it didn't seem to fix the entire issue. Anyways, when it finally does boot here is what I get in the "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" box.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Please note, I'm not a computer genius lol and I need things explained to me step by step in idiot terms :D Thanks in advance!

I don't know if I'm doing this right... I am running the SF Diagnostic Tool now, seems to be taking forever. Is that normal? I couldn't right click on anything to "run as administrator" So I clicked on the grab all button. I attempted the mini dump first, I guessed that was what I should choose because the "Files that help describe..." said it was a mini dump. I thought I did it as directed but nothing came up after and I didn't have to do a restart. Should I start over, am I doing something wrong or am I just being too impatient? I really appreciate you dealing with my uncomputer savvyness! lol

restart your computer once. try the grab all option once again and see if you will be able to upload the dumps

Hi Shilea

You are doing the right thing.... just follow the instruction and yes...just be a little patient and all the files will be grabbed to the desktop... Just zip it up and post it here.

If you feel it still doesnt work... then just download this teamviewer quick support and let me know the ID and pass via private message... so i can remotely access your system... and collect all the files required for us to analyze.

hi Shilea

It looks like a video driver error (Bugcheck code A means ... its usually caused by a driver and your other Bugcheck code 116 means its a Video TDR Error... related to your display driver.)

I would suggest you reinstall the display driver or update it to the latest and let me know if it solves your problem.

Well, I updated and restarted. The computer started ok this time. Although it seems to be hit or miss when it doesn't boot up correctly. I will give it some time to see if it continues and let you know. Thanks so much for the help!!

Well, I thought it was fixed, but it's acting up again and much worse than before. Rarely will it start on the first try... usually I have to restart it 2 or 3 times before it finally boots up. Still giving me the same report. How do I uninstall the driver completely and reinstall it? Well more so, do I uninstall everything that has nvidia attached to the name? And how do I figure out what driver I reinstall.
My uninstall says I have the following:
Nvidia HD audio driver 1.3.18.0
Nvidia 3D vision controller driver 310.70
Nvidia graphics driver 310.70.
Nvidia update 1.11.3
Nvidia PhysX System software 9-12.1031

Figure a complete redo of the driver is my last hope before having to just bite the bullet and buy new.
