That's about what that will do is simply put the card asleep until that one is solved. You may actually have to remove the card from the slot itself, blow that out with a can of air cleaner, and then try reseating it down evenly as you press down fully again once all drivers for it card are removed. That would allow a totally new fresh detection by Windows as well as insure the card is down and the slot is free of any debris.

Meanwhile what did you use for repartitioning the drive? I still haven't found where they keep coming up with the 100-200mb hidden partition just by taking one look at the 7 installations on 3 separate single primary drives unless the Windows installer's drive tools for 7 were used.

I used the windows 7 installation disk and I suspect from reading that article that there was like a mb of unformatted space after formatting (something of that nature)

Think debris is causing the error or you think I just need to make sure there is no debris before I put in the next card?

The 1-8mb even at the beginning or end of the primary(basic for desktops) is there to allow conversion to the dynamic type volume seen on drives used for servers. That's not just the 7 installer alone that sees that one.

If the card is lifted up any in the slot or the slot itself has a large buildup that would exolain the problems right off. The card wouldn't be fully functional and not fully detected by Windows which in turn would make the drivers active.

A bad install of drivers can also result in blue screens as well however if not a mismatch or clashing with something else leftover. If the board has onboard video that would be an instant clash and need to be switched off as well as either disabling or removing those drivers entirely.

The inspection and reseat of the card could be all that is needed there. these are a few things to look into before assuming the card is ?
