Since you say you updated the video driver, and still get a BSOD, a new .dmp file has been generated. I need to see that.

So, everytime you get a new BSOD, you MUST re-run the DM Log Collector Tool and upload the new ZIP file.

Sorry just to clarify, this is an issue I've been having for about a month now. I just started trying to fix it again today.

I have already tried many things to fix the problem. If I was to update the drivers, I wouldn't be able to boot, I'd just run into that atikmdag.sys BSOD. Right now I'm able to use the laptop because I did a fix I found via google. Essentially, I'm just replacing atikmdag.sys with the updated/newer file (just the one file, not the whole driver) but I'm not able to use any video features (my resolution is extremely poor, I can't duplicate displays, I can't adjust brightness, etc.)

I didn't actually run into a BSOD again, but I know I will because it's been happening over the course of a month and I just tried updating again before I posted this thread and the same thing happened.

You can't just replace one component of the video driver - that will lead to problems as you have seen.

Create a Restore Point, then fully uninstall the video driver. Now run Windows Update and install the driver offered. Now do this:

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

Driver Verifier will cause your computer to run very sluggishly - this is normal. What it is trying to do is force your system to BSOD and isolate the offending driver/s. When it does, reboot, disable driver verifier, reboot as normal and upload the new dmp file/s here.

I recommend creating a system restore point before turning on driver verifier:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/697-system-restore-point-create.html

If your system fails to boot to desktop once driver verifier is enabled, turn it off by booting into Safe Mode:

After uninstalling I checked device manager and it had a yellow flag on my AMD Radeon xxxx. I checked it and it said restart to complete changes or something like that so I restarted and i got the BSOD on boot as usual.

I'm running that DM log tool again in safe mode. Let me know what I should do after.

Thanks for your help.

Should I run the Driver Verifier in safe mode? I assume it should be run in a normal state? If so, I would have to do that fix I mentioned earlier. Should I do it?

Updating it just brings back the BSOD. I'll do it anyways though since I'm currently in a BSOD-on-boot state right now.

Scratch that. I restarted and it booted with the same resolution issues, but in the taskbar I got the notification that the driver was installing. Once it was done installing I rebooted again and got the BSODs.

I ran the DM log again in safe mode. Attached.
