Hi,

After performing a fresh install along with the basic drivers to get me going everything went fine. however after windows connected to the internet and downloaded and installed the so called important updates the system restarted just before windows logon screen it was applying the usual changes got to about 32% of 5 of 5 updates then bsod on me. the only way i could get back into system was to boot into safe-mode then let it revert/roll back. iv not changed the hardware and in all the times ive done this before iv never had this happen before. due to disability i rely on pc for everything please advise.

many thanks

nw

Hello, nwalker78 and welcome to the Forums. I will try to help you if I can. You had 3 dump files and all 3 were the same.

Code:
BugCheck A, {0, 2, 1, fffff80002ec6b5f}
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for SYMNETS.SYS
[COLOR=red]*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for SYMNETS.SYS[/COLOR]
[COLOR=red]Probably caused by : NETIO.SYS ( NETIO!WfpExpireEntryLru+17 )[/COLOR]
Followup: MachineOwner

The NETIO is the Windows controller for the network I/O system. SYMNETS is your Symantec/ Norton NIS/ N360 Network Security driver. It appears that your Norton product is causing issues with the Network system and causing it to crash. Notice that the Norton driver is their Network Security Driver. Norton/Symantec has been a well known cause of BSODs for some time.

I would remove Norton and use their removal tool (https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us) and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows) to see if that will resolve your problem. Try that and let me know how it works for you. If you get any more crashes, please upload another DM Log.
