BSOD coming out of Sleep Mode

Hello,

At least every other time, when I put my HP Elitebook 9470a into Sleep mode, when it comes out of Sleep mode, it goes BSOD. I'm running Windows 7, Service Pack 1, 64Bit with 8GB RAM and Intel i5 processor.

Attached is my dump file.

I used one tool to look briefly at the DMP file and it looks like it's caused by the ntoskrnl.exe but can't tell any other details than that. Thanks for any guidance you guys could provide.

Hello and welcome txam92 now first of all could you please follow this as your specs are alittle thin on the ground
Now before we can help we do need to know what is in your machine so please do this System Info - See Your System Specs
or either enter the specs of your system in your forum profile the specs will appear when we click on that little box bottom left of the post screen it is for me the preferable option as it is easy. As you may appreciate it is very hard when you don’t know what one is working with for example a diesel or petrol engine.

Now the dump file you refer to is very common and as you say is really of little help so what I would suggest is that you run these first if you haven't already

Thanks for the response! I filled out my profile as requested. I ran the system-file-checker and it came up with some errors that it was able to fix. After a reboot, I ran it again just to see if there was anything left behind but it was all clear. Next, I ran the disk-check and it only had one error that it fixed. I already had Malwarebytes on my laptop and run it weekly, but ran it again just for grins and it had no problems. I also ran the Windows memtest at boot and it didn't report any problems.

I've put the laptop to sleep twice and it came back both times. I'll have to do it a few more times over the next couple of days to see if the fixes are really working. Thanks so much for the guidance so far, I really appreciate it!

Sorry late reply tx mate now the Windows memtest really isn't up to the job and you should use the only test we recommend see this
Now to make absolutely we are on the same page the memtest linked here is the only one we recommend and it MUST be run for at least 8 passes or you may as well not bother. It is rather lengthy and best left for a downtime for that machine - overnight is good. Having said that you can stop the test if errors show up while you are around and then it is a matter of tracking down the bad stick of RAM. RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Even if the machine now running ok it would be a good thing to do.

Fully understood on the memtest. We were on the same page.

So far....I haven't had an BSOD after coming out of sleep since doing the fixed I described in my previous post. I'll see if I can run the memtest you referred to in your post this weekend. Thanks again for all the help!

Ok I mean you don't have to but for the sake of running it overnight it at least will sow you if the RAM is ok should the BSOD' come up again
