BSOD crash error STOP 0x00000101

to my knowledge i'm not over-clocking. my BIOS settings r set to Default.
however i've disabled F1 error and Turbo Tech in BIOS CPU Configuration because whenever i cold start the system i get this message: Over-Clocking Failed. Pls Enter Setup to Re-Configure settings or something like that. i don't think i'm over-clocking. not to my knowledge. and i'm not sure what 'under-volting' is

Dont worry about undervolting if you were you would know it. BIOS update maybe. whats the date on yours?

If you are getting:

BSOD crash error STOP 0x00000101

Then it is a BAD CORE no matter whether it is INTEL or AMD. Stress tests do NOT usually show you this, they are pointless/worthless in this particular instance. I just got back another RMA replacement CPU because this error. The manufacturer checked it out & said, YES, it was a bad/defective Core. I have already received the replacement CPU. Look, I have been computing since 1979. There are some tricks you can do that will lower the strain on that bad CPU, & make you think it was your bios, video card, memory, or other things, but you are only temporarily fooling your computer. If you are still under warranty, contact Intel/AMD & tell them you were getting random BSOD's with the same error message every time. Tell them you took it into a local Computer Shop & that THEY diagnosed it as a defective CPU. That will usually get you a quite quick RMA process started.

I tried many versions of home stress tests that showed NO ERRORS, but soon as I started using it day to day again, here came that very same BSOD 101 error. Every single time a replacement CPU either retail or RMA has fixed this problem. I am trying to help here. Hope you can understand exactly what your problem is from this. Again, fooling with your Bios settngs, voltages, drivers, etc., is only a temporary fix, & does NOT fix the REAL problem. Replace your CPU.

Hey there, I used to have this problem when I installed AVG PC TuneUp. Right after I removed it my PC crashed again. After and since that last restart my computer has been running stable. I have an Intel core i7-950 3.07GHz proccessor and Windows 7 premium Ultimate 64bit. Since TuneUp messes with performance by messing with services, graphics and running programs this might be a hint of what is happening with your computer. Perhaps it has something to do with your visual settings or the services that run in the background. I hope this at least helps someone to figure out what the real problem is.
