Hi,

I have a BSOD that appears once in a while on my Dell XPS L502X.

It indicates:
- Driver Power State Failure
- Technical information: 0x0000009F (0x0000000000000004, 0x0000000000000258, 0xFFFFFA8006CED660, 0XFFFFF80004AEF3D0)

Two files are attached with additional information, including the ZIP file requested.

Please let me know what is the issue and how I can solve it.

Olivier

Right, it would appear the cause is due to memory corruption. You should run memtest86 for at least 8 passes. Follow these instructions.

Memtest86+ is necessary for explicit memory corruption.

Sometimes memory corruptions caused by some malfunctioning drivers too. And for this purpose you need to update the driver to your Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6230. Get it from Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7.

At the same time, it is strongly recommended that you uninstall/downgrade Norton.

If you opt for uninstall, uninstall Norton and all Symentec products using Norton Removal tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
