Dell XPS L502X had an aneurysm and self-deleted some drivers

I've got Dell XPS L502X that somehow deleted its network card and USBs drivers, went over to Dell and put all the specs into their littler product service helper and it brought up a list of factory-state drivers for the machine. I downloaded these drivers to a DVD (since the USBs and web don't work) and tried executing the driver installation applications, upon doing so whichever application I tried to use it would always fail the installation saying that I needed to install using the network wireless installer, I'm guessing that isn't what I just downloaded so I'm needing some help here.

USB 2.0 drivers are generic Windows installed drivers, not anything specific. There are USB 3.0 drivers listed on the Dell site.

I would first install the Intel motherboard chipset drivers. If they are corrupt many devices may not be identified and recognized by Windows. Dell lists the chipset drivers as the HM67 chipset drivers.

Install the motherboard chipset drivers, restart the PC and then proceed with whatever drivers you need. Follow the listed Dell installation instructions.

If you are downloading them from some other PC and burning a CD, copy the drivers from the CD to the PC first and then run the driver installation(s).

Okay I installed the hm67 chipset driver and restarted, I then tried to install the other drivers I had on the disk (after moving them the the computer and unpacking them) but I still get the same error "This application must be installed using the Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless installer."

See if you can enter the BIOS to see if the Lan Connection is enabled ..

Tapping <F12> immediately after the Dell logo appears, should take you to One Time Boot Menu and <F2> to BIOS Setup...

I found this on a modder's forum. However, this should be the same on yours.

Notice there is an entry for Integrated NIC. I don't know if this includes Wireless but worth checking.

There is also the "F9" option which will reset the BIOS to the factory settings. That may be worth doing and see if restores the wi-fi controller.
