Hello, I've been browsing around to try to solve this problem

I get stuck at shut down screen

I think I made it worse when I messed with msconfig where I had no access to internet or mouse because
of less startup items i choose (also spent a lot of time trying to revert this, even system restore was off)

Therefore, I am here, not going to touch anything further, asking for your professional help.

Please tell me what is going on, I tried updating all drivers / deleting programs that I dont need anymore.

None of them have anything to do with internet and mouse. Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Daemon Tools uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a known BSOD causer. Uninstall the program at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

  • Double click to open it.
  • Click this button only:
  • 2012-12-13_224441.jpg
  • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
See how it goes. Let us know.

I included a new event log just to see if anything changes or helps to find out more things about my pc

Please uninstall SteelSeries Engine and try another keyboard and let us go through the crash dump generated after it?

Asking for it because what we have seen so far is the SteelSeries Engine that is causing the issue. And so we have to check the situation without it.

z32019912 ,

I recently had a shut down issue like yours, resulting in the system hanging at shutdown, eventual BSODs, and then an automatic reboot. I went to the Event Viewer and looked at the Critical Errors, and found a Driver Power State Failure with a failure code. Actually, I found several issues my computer was having that I was unaware of, including interference from dlls from programs that had already been uninstalled and left behind.

Until a few weeks ago, I never even looked at the Event Viewer, and now feel it is a valuable tool in Windows. For me, it gave me the failure code that started me down a repair path. My BSODs disappeared after updating the firmware for my DVD, although I am reluctant to state that was the cause of the driver failures.
