Solved BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE ntoskrnl.exe+7cc80 upon shutdown

every time my computer sits for an extended period of time i get this BSOD. Consistantly this happens. Also happens upon shutdown. it hangs saying computer is shutting down. and after say 30 minutes (never timed it) it BSOD's with same error. 50% of the time upon shutdown my speakers play static for 5-10 seconds, and quit.

System Spec's

AMD FX-8120
ASUS M5A97 evo
Corsair Force GT 90GB SSD
8GB Patriot Viper Extreme DDR3
XFX Radeon HD 6870

Windows 7 Pro x64



It started happening when I installed to my SSD, but i did a few things at once when i did this.
1. SSD Drive
2. Updated Bios
3. Windows Hotfix for Bulldozer processors (2 hotfix's installed in correct order)

Troubleshooting
1. Dont want to give up my SSD. But, have debated on Re-installing everything again, but as a last resort.
2. I have tried 3 different Bios's without any luck
3. Cannot uninstall these hotfix's... only option is clean install.

I have uninstalled, restarted, and reinstalled the ATI Drivers, Updated all my board drivers, and updated about everything i can think of. Uninstalled different things, and no such luck.


Attached is the last 3 BSOD minidump files. Any help or insight would be gratefull.

Symantec is a frequent cause of BSOD's.
I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

you my friend are a god.... i must of missed that driver... now i feel retarded.. BUT it was a pain to install..

had to go to bios, enable IDE mode. Start up my computer. Install the AHCI drivers. Reboot into bios, enable AHCI mode. And it finished the install and kablamo... i can actually shutdown now...

There are a few apps for the average user to get an idea. One is Blue screen view. I dont use it because it sometimes incorrectly blames the OS.

We use WinDeBugger as it is the gold standard for ppl analyzing them.
