BSOD during downloads

So it could still be mostly likely be a failing hard drive ? Maybe I should buy a new one and see if the error goes away. The western digital hard drive is still under warranty, but how do i even tell them that the hard drive is failing if it has passed all the hard drive tests i have performed on it ?

essenbe has asked me to drop by, I'll take a look through your logs now and see if anything stands out. Having just read through the thread though it looks like essenbe is spot on and the hard drive is being blamed, strange that it's passing the diagnostic tests and still being shown as problematic in the dump files but that could lead to something else. Did you plug the drive into another SATA port yet as essenbe requested? That could prove quite telling.

I have a 2TB Seagate hard drive in an External Dock I use for Backups. Yesterday when I tried to back it up, I kept getting read errors on the drive. I just ran the diagnostic tests, which all passed. But, I still can't do a backup as the program keeps telling me read errors.

Just reading through a lot of threads I have learned that some inclosure have a program that changes how data is sent and received on a hard drive. If that program go belly up Windows 7 will not be able to read the drive.

I will try to find the thread.

Had something to do with a enclosure drive having this.
