Solved BSoD during gaming, 0xd1

Hello

I bought a PC about a month ago and I have Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (64bit) on it. I had some 0x1a errors at first, but that got fixed by doing a Windows Update. So I was 'bluescreenless' for weeks.

Unfortunately 3 days ago it started giving me blue screens again. It happens daily, during gaming.
I ran memtest with both rams installed and and another 2 sessions with them separately. I did not get any errors.

I'd really appreciate if someone could help me out. Thanks in advance.

Install the latest WHQL only.

• Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features
  • 3D Vision Control Driver
  • 3D Vision Driver
  • Graphics Driver
  • HD Audio Driver
  • PhysX
  • nvidia Update
  (Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
• Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
• Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

In Device Manager: 9.18.13.1422

Let us know the results. Also upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

1. Click on the start button
2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

First off, thank you for your fast reply. I really appreciate your help.

The first time I got the BSoD I was using the 314.22 WHQL driver, now I am using the latest beta driver.
Will go back to 314.22 now, following your instructions.

In the meantime, I got another BSoD:
0x9c, MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION, hal.dll

So I included the dump for that one and the msinfo32.

EDIT: MSINFO is probably in my native language. If that causes any problem I will download the English language files and upload it again.

Basically it indicates to a hardware error, but in the memory stack I am getting a lot of tcpip and Netio errors. Like these ...

So it is something blocking the network perhaps. It may be any virus, or an antivirus, or a failing network adapter driver or any other network settings.

In a search, I got it.

It is either OpenVPN or Comodo. As a test, you may uninstall it.

Scan the system for possible virus infection with the following programs.

• Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller
• Windows Defender Offline

Update the Atheros AR8161/8165 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) driver, from ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros?????)

A hall.dll error is usually suspected as a hardware error. so perform those hardware tests.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Let us know the results.

Funny thing is that I get these when I am playing indie games. Playing CPU/GPU intensive games do not yield any errors whatsoever.

I had my CPU OC'd recently so I was running Prime95 for 12 hours succesfully. And when I first got the 0xd1 I ran memtest and checkdisk. Those have not given me any errors. But I will run them again in the following nights.

Anyways, thanks for the help. I will post again if I get another BSoD, but hopefully the OVPN uninstall and the VGA driver re-install solved it.
