Hi,

Would greatly appreciate help with my laptop. I can’t download the SF_Diagnostic_Tool, as can’t access the net and can’t get at the dump files. Last thing I did on my laptop was download baseball team logos a couple days previous to problems. Any suggestions appreciated. Use mobile hotspot for internet and this is not working in SafeMode. These are the lap top specs, and can provide more if needed:

Xplorer X7-7500 Gaming Notebook;
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2820QM Mobile Processor 2.30 GHz 8M Intel Smart Cache, Max Turbo Freq. 3.40 GHz [+360] ;
OS Windows 7
Memory: 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3-1333 SODIMM Memory (Corsair or Major Brand) ;
Motherboard: Intel HM65 Express Chipset Mainboard

Troubles started a few days ago, with BSOD. Have tried various solutions without success. These are error messages received:

‘The instruction at 0x00000000777FC3EE referenced memory at 0x000007FEF59CFDB0. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc000000e.’

‘BSOD Code no. *** STOP: 0x000000F4’

‘STOP: C0000135 The program can’t start because %hs is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.’

‘PXE – E61: Media Test Failure, check cable.

Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.’

Would really appreciate any and all help. Thanks a lot!

Welcome to SevenForums,

F4 is usually related to storage/hard drive.

Do you have a SSD? Did you update to its latest firmware for it?

Start by testing the hard drive:

Upload a screenshot of your hard disk using crystal disk info:
Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:
Hard drive test both short and long with:
Also the DOS version of:

Thanks for your help!

Would stress first that I cannot get Internet access in safe mode (mobile hotspot is what I use).

In answer to your questions:

As far as I know, I don't have an SSD. If I did would I find it in the computer SPECS, or is it external? I do have an external HD, and access to another computer that has access to the Internet.

As long as it's possible from SAFE MODE (all that I can get into as everything disappears from the desktop out of safe mode, except the recycle bin) I can do anything that you have suggested that does not need Internet access. So that would, as far as I can see, be the 'Run Check Disc' and the 'Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure'. Does that sound right to you?

Appreciate the help!

Thanks again for replying!

As far as I can see, I will not be able to run the Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start, as will need internet access for this, which do not have with Safe Mode. Am I wrong? Please advise.

In the meanwhile, I will try the Startup Repair for three separate times, with restarts after every single run, and then get back to you.

If you cannot boot normally, follow this tutorial:
Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start

Or, run Startup Repair for three separate times, with restarts after every single run.
Startup Repair: Run three separate times.

When you start the computer, tap F5 or F8 constantly, that should bring you to a screen with safe mode boot options, choose safe mode with networking. You should be able to access the internet with that. As far as the diagnostics go, you can download and burn the disks from another computer. If KoolKat's suggestions do not solve your problems, I suggest running Memtest86+. for 7 passes, usually best to run overnight.

Essenbe (answering for my husband here), unfortunately cannot access the mobile hotspot=internet access on safe mode, unless you know a way to do that that we have not found. Thanks.

Were you able to get into safe mode with networking? If you were, maybe someone else can help you. I'm not much of a laptop person, I'm much better with desktops. lol. But, it should work with a wired internet access.

Do you have your repair disc, or windows installer disc?

If no, do you have access to another computer running the same windows version, you may make a repair disk from that computer too. Any of your friends or in family may have one.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html

Then follow the steps suggested by koolkat77 earlier ...
koolkat77 said:

Startup Repair: Run three separate times.

Edit: Do it, too.

  1. Re-seat the sata and power.
  2. Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check

Arc, for option 2 won't it be necessary to boot into safe mode with commannd prompt? And, how about sfc /scannow?
