BSOD 0x00000074, can't get into Safe Mode, can't boot from CD

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5737 with Win 7.

Hi guys, so yesterday I was changing some values in the registry and I was asked to reboot the system. It never got done, as a BSOD occured.

The BSOD error message is 0x00000074. I can't turn the system on in a safe mode as well - I get the BSOD too.

My only choice seemed to be formatting the whole thing, but when trying to boot from the CD, the message I get is:

PXE:M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.

No boot Device Found. Press any key to reboot the machine.

That makes my laptop basically useless. Is there anyway I could fix the toast?​

Hello and welcome Jacob now mate before we start into your problem if you want to retrieve data then follow this
BOOTABLE UBUNTU
Make a bootable Ubuntu disk Get Ubuntu | Download | Ubuntu
Set the BIOS to boot from the optical when the machine boots it will show you a screen with TRY or INSTALL > select TRY not INSTALL
When it is finished - it takes very little time you will get a screen like in the pic .
Open the drive you want > User and dig down until you get to the data / settings you may be able to copy / paste the material you want to an external source or other installed drive doing this.
I am not sure if it will but I have recovered tons of data etc using this method both on "dead" or just plain drives that you cannot get data from using Windows.
There is an alternative Linux based program that will do the same thing but I prefer the Ubuntu - I find it easier to set up. Emergency Kit - save your files from a dead OS

Just out of interest did you back up the registry before you went delving around in there and also what entries were you changing - always dicey unless you are sure what is going to be affected by such changes and it could just be that you may have changed the wrong entry by mistake
