Hello,

I'm running Windows7 on a HP Elitebook. I've been getting the blue screen of death regularly for the past week. It is severly affecting my productivity and I hope someone can help. It mentions the following error:
driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

The error code is:
0x000000D1

I think it may have to do with problems with my driver. I've attached the mini dump that was created from the last crash as a zipped file. Could someone provide me with more information on how I can resolve this?

I also have the system event log for the crash if that helps?

Rgds,
Declan

Thanks for the reply. It actually mentions NETIO.SYS when the BSOD happens.

Do you know what my next step should be?

The NETIO.SYS is a driver for Network I/O Subsystem and is updated through Windows Update, have checked for the latest Windows Updates?

The drivers were up to date when the BSOD started. I tried a system restore yesterday to see if that would remove the latest driver updates but I still got the error today.

How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee products using the Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR)

Your dump does not provide a specific reason, its just blaming windows files for some reason.
So uninstall McAfee (Its' known as a cause to bsods) and see if stability returns. If not, we'll
do more troubleshooting.

Thanks

Have to attempted to repair any files with the System File Checker?

Open Command Prompt, and use the following command: sfc /scannow

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

I'll get a BSOD specialist to help with this thread too.

Thanks for the feedback.

I ran the command (after several BSOD) but it didn't show any problems:

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Have you a integrated network card? Reading from some posts, the network card can be the problem, but Windows blames the netio.sys driver file instead.

Have you installed MSE yet? If not, could you please install it as soon as possible and uninstall McAffee has suggested by koolkat77

Thank you,

Harry

I've removed as much of the McAfee software as I can. My laptop is McAfee encrypted as a policy for work so I won't be able to remove all McAfee software.

I'll see if any more BSOD's happen.

I'm not sure if my network card is integrated or not. It's name is:
Intel(R) 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection

I've download MSE and am currently running a scan.

That's good, and please update your system specifications, by going to the UserCP and within the left pane should be a option to update your system specifications.

Speccy is a free program which will provide information about your computer, and I believe your network card will be integrated if it produced by Intel.

Need some more information about the issue,

Are you seeing this BSOD during browsing (i.e running some network app) or during windows update installation?

Like Harry said if it is Intel then it's intergrated which means
that it is in the computer and ready to use. If you are on a laptop computer then your card is Intergrated.

CLICK
>Control Panel
Then
>Device Manager
>Scroll until you see the Network Adapter Section: click on the subfolder(the arrow beside NETWORK ADAPTER.
You will see info there: Mine is ATHEROS(you see that in the pic.Yours will say INTEL.......)
