BSOD, freezes, distorted screen and audio on intensive use

Hello all,

first post, I read the rules and guidelines, hope I didn't miss anything.

Running a Win7 Ultimate x64, 4GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5850 video card.

Recently, as of about 2 weeks, I've been getting random freezes with distorted screen and audio when running a game that I play (mod for BF2). I've noticed that this also happens when watching videos online or last night when I was comparing 150k lines of text in Notepad++ with a file the same size.

This has lead me to believe that there is either a RAM issue, video card issue or HDD issue. I received no clues, except for a bluescreen a few days ago that gave me the message: "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL". This is the only usable BSOD that I received and I figure it must have something to do with it.

I ran the SFDT, but the catch-22 is that my pc freezes up when it runs. Not immediately, but always before it finishes.

I have added the folder in .zip as an attachment, I hope it will be of some use since the tool didn't run all the way (I tried 3 times).

It appears that your installation is missing almost ~3 years of updates including critical security/stability Windows updates including SP1. You really can't expect Windows 7 to run without hiccups after so much time without those updates.

I doubt the legitimacy of your installation, could you please confirm that your version of Windows 7 is genuine? Your hosts files also reveal some troubling information about Adobe products installed on your machine.

As per forum rules, we need to confirm that your installation has been legitimately activated before proceeding any further.
