BSOD from wireless network adpater (i think)

Well, it all started when my wireless signal kept dropping (link HERE) and after a wile it would drop after just a few minutes. Then I had 2 BSOD's. I am running a tri-monitor set up and each time it happened the default monitor would show the BSOD while the other two would be frozen and each time the wireless signal was lost just before it happened.

s Windows 7 . . . - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64 - the original installed OS on the system? Yes - an OEM or full retail version? OEM - OEM = came pre-installed on system - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer - What is the age of system (hardware)? About 1 year and 2 months - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Installation about 1 month.

I'm very confused. Why do you have ATI and Nvidia drivers? Did you at one point have ATI and switch to Nvidia? You also have both chipsets installed. Your computer specs state you have AMD chipset. I'm also showing you have three video cards installed? This is your chipset specs AMD 780G Chipset. This is all very confusing to me. Please explain what is going on.

I have 2 different video cards. I have a ATI Radeon HD 3200 (on board) and a Nvidia GeForce GT 220 (installed on PCI-e slot). So I don't know why it is showing that I have 3 video cards. I am running 2 VGA monitors and 1 HDMI monitor. Could that possible be the reason? And I will report back with the results of the tests.

Ok. I see now. It only shows two cards. Your nvidia has two monitors hooked up and your ATI has one. For testing purposes I would disable/remove one of the cards. If you decide to use your on-board ATI then you need to update the drivers. You can get the latest from here

I just checked the date on the driver. The one from the link I provided is dated 2011. The one that was loaded in your system is from 2009. Is it telling you that you have the latest driver installed when you try to install it?

To DeanP: I found the link by searching the forum and preformed the "sfc /scannow" and rebooted... now where do I go from here?

To Dave76: I am not sure if my main harddrive is a "Caviar Green HDD". It is whatever came preinstalled on my computer. Is there any way to test to see if it is a "Caviar Green HDD"?

To mgorman87: I downloaded the file from the link of the Marvell website and saved it into my "Downloads" folder. I then Clicked on the Start orb, right click on "Computer", then left click on "Properties". I then clicked on "Device Manager" in the task pane to the left and went down to "Network Adapters" and extended it. I then right clicked "Marvell Yukon 22E8071 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller" and left clicked "Update Driver Software...". Then I selected "Browse my Computer for Driver Software" and then selected C:\Users\Max\Downloads for it to search. It then said that Windows has determined that the latest driver is already installed. Is there another way to install the driver? I noticed that the file that I downloaded from the Marvell sited did not have an .exe installer. Edit: Ok, didn't notice that the file was a in a zip. Extracted it to my desktop and I installed it from there. Maybe I should pay a little more attention... Lol.... :o:banghead:

And just as a general update I haven't seen a BSOD in a while and the computer has been used for things such as general surfing the web to online school work to watching Blu Ray movies... Is there anyway to stress test it farther?

Yes, I ran both the quick and short WD Lifeguard test and I did also run the sfc/ scannow command.

My apologies. I did run the extended test. It came back clean. I ran sfc /scannow and it asked me to reboot. That was about it. Is there a log somewhere that sfc created? How do I find the results of it?
