Hi!!
I have a BFG GTX 260 video card, when I turn it on in normal mode it displays BSOD but when I turn it on in safe mode it works fine, my motherboard (MSI K9N2 Diamond) has 3 PCI-Ex slots I tried all of them but it still crashes. I also uninstalled and installed the video drivers but no luck, I even formatted my hard disk and installed windows 7 and also 8 but it still not working, I tried another video card and it works....could it be that my video card is damaged?

Thanks!!

From my understanding when you boot in safe mode windows loads the standard VGA driver as if NO graphics driver were installed whatsoever.

So in my opinion i would imagine there is a problem with the Nvidea driver installed on your computer.

I would uninstall the video driver for your card first. I don't know how hard that would be to do in safemode. Than i would reboot normal--the resolution will be terrible--then reinstall the correct driver.

Edit: Ok this seems pretty simple. From online research this is what you do in safemode.

Right click the Computer icon. Than click Manage. In the left panel click device manager. In the middle panel click display adapters. Right click your graphics card and choose uninstall.

Your driver should now be uninstalled and you can now install the correct one from the internet.

I hope this helps.

Also if you could upload your dump file from the bluescreen you have been getting we could look it over for you.

Im sorry your computer is still having trouble. Are you installing the correct driver?

When your computer crashes/BSOD's it creates a DUMP file with the extension .dmp We need that file or something similar. The link that brink has given you should have the instructions on how to get us the file we need. It will tell us what file is causing the blue screen and we can give you possible solutions to remedy the problem.

You can probably run the files in safe mode you just need a flash drive. You could even maybe go to safe mode with networking and get on the internet and download the files.

You said that you uninstalled the drivers and booted in Normal mode and it worked fine so i am almost sure it is a driver problem. Is this a new graphics card and you just plugged it in and cant get it to work? Did it work fine before and just now started to act up? Is this a replacement for an old graphics card and maybe you didn't uninstall the old drivers correctly for the previous card. Even on-board graphics on your mother board have drivers that need to be uninstalled.

So if you can answer these questions and give us the dump file it will give us a better idea what we are dealing with.
Thank you
