Hi Guys,

I have been facing this issue since Feb,2015, system works fine in safe mode but when I boot up in normal mode it starts freezing within few minutes of usage. I usually fix this by reinstalling OS. Today it happened for 4th time, so I am little worried. Did quite a few stuffs before reinstalling OS, which I am listing out below:

1. Tried disabling audio driver, didnt work
2. Tried to check bad sector errors using chkdisk( Got few index file errors which got fixed, at least that's what it informed me), but still I was facing the issue.
3. Ran a HDD health check from WD since I am using WD blue 1tb HDD. Tests failed, customer support suggested to get a new one.

Since all these steps failed and I am right now not in a condition to buy a new HDD i did a reinstall of OS and it seems to be working fine. Can you please suggest me if i really should replace HDD or is there some other solution.

System Details are below:
HDD - WD Caviar blue 1 tb
CPU- AMD FX 8350
GPU Saphire ATI radeon HD 7870 2gb DUal-X
PSU- Corsair CX 600
Ram 2 X 4gb(1 XCorsair Vengeance and 1 x Gskill)
CPU Cooler- DEEPCOOL NEPTWIN CPU Cooler

Hi,
I see you have mixed up your ram ?
I would suggest only using 1 brand and they do need to be matching set if you want more get the exact same...

Will mixing up the ram cause issues?? They are of same speed i.e. 1600 MHz

Hi,
That is just one aspect of a stick of ram it's speed rating
There's also voltage which G-Skill might be higher than Corsair uses
There's also latency which might also differ between brands,

I would suggest again get another stick exactly like same brand.....
Order 1 more from the same place where you bough the first.

If you can't remember buy a 8gb twin "2x4gb" or 4x2gb pack this is how most people would do it anyway it insures compatibility.

Hi,
Well if WD says it's bad ?
I would say it's bad,
The ram issue I suppose is secondary but I was just saying it's not good to mix it up with different brands as I explained

Not quite sure why you would do that anyway
Buy all G-Skill or all Corsair :/
