Azgaard, would it be possible for you to find a friend that would be willing to swap cards with you for a couple of days? That would confirm to you whether the problem is the card or are we having issues with something else.

Plus, BF4 gives a lot of people problems, and plenty of them. I eventually had to uninstall the game because I crashed every 5 minutes playing it. I could just tell it was the game crashing and not the card, even though the ump files blamed the card. I have several games and BF4 was the only one that did it. Some people play it with no problems at all, it's strange that way.

But a video card swap would tell us a lot.

Essenbe. I started to get errors after I installed and started to play guild wars 2. I just assumed it was the game. I went back to BF4 but I started to get BSOD's rather than the game just crashing. I was using a HD5770 at the time so I bought this new card now.

I find it hard difficult to believe both cards are faulty. Should I reinstall my old card?

If it were me I would try to swap cards, but I agree with you, it is hard to believe both cards are bad. But, if it isn't the cards, I would have to say it is the motherboard or the PSU. What brand and model PSU do you have? Also, what case and airflow do you have? I've never played Guild Wars, but BF4 would really overpower a 5770, I would think.

Psu was what I thought it was as well so I swapped out a very old unknown German brand from mesh for a corsair 750 so I guess the mobo is likely then. It's a MSI 780 c45 with phenom 2 proc. the 5770 ran the game pretty well actually on medium graphics.

I bought a zalman z5 plus with 3 case fans to house the new gpu as it didn't fit in the old one from mesh. Don't think it's an air flow problem as fur mark never causes it to reach over 72deg at a max 69% fan speed. Still plenty of capacity left.

I'll try swapping out the cards. A new mobo isn't the end of the world I guess. I guess I can pick up a semi decent one for £80?

Thanks for the input guys

Ok, so I haven't had a BSOD yet with the new card installed. Zotac GTX 780 AMP! however the game does still crash and also it has crashed while playing CIV 5 as well. I've attached a screen shot of the error I got on BF

Obviously to do with the drivers. I've installed the latest ones. Funny how both cards of different makes both have driver issues.

I also with a 36hr mem86+ test and it came up with an error. Might the memory be causing any issues?

If MemTest86+ has thrown up an error then there is definitely a problem with the RAM. How many sticks do you have installed?

If Memtest86 showed an error, that is most likely your problem. Corsair is a very reputable company and your ram has a lifetime warranty. I would RMA all of your ram and ask for a kit to replace it. A kit is tested to work well together where individual sticks are not. You may also ask about an advanced RMA, where they take a credit card number just in case you don't return the bad ram, and send you the new ram first and you can return the old ram after receiving the old ram. Your credit card will no be charged if they receive the defective ram.

EDIT: Boozad has faster fingers than I do.

You're more than welcome. I am sure that the ram faults is at least much of your problem, if not all of it. I wish you good luck with Corsair. They are usually pretty responsive. However, I think legends is a little strong. Both Boozad and I try to keep up with technology to pass it on to others, but legends is a little much. I hope this will solve all your problems. When you get the new ram and try it out for a while, please give us some feedback on how it is working out for you. Once you believe your problems are solved, we would appreciate you marking this thread solved.
