My Windows 7 is

- 32-bit
- Full Retail Version

- What is the age of system (hardware)? * 2 Years
- What is the age of OS installation * OS Installation 1 Year.

Hi - I had a BSOD and I am keen to get to the root of the problem since I really
need this laptop to work when I am travelling.

My hunch is that it is a driver issue.

All advice GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

This one was caused by igdkmd32.sys. Whioch is your intel graphics driver. It should be re-installed with the newest possible driver from Intel

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

Code:
Probably caused by : igdkmd32.sys ( igdkmd32+226cca )

You should also update these two
Code:
e1y6032.sys 0x8c33d000 0x8c376000 0x00039000 0x48a9ed45 8/18/2008 17:44:37
netw5v32.sys 0x8d81d000 0x8dc30000 0x00413000 0x49cba8fd 3/26/2009 12:10:37
How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

Thanks ZigZag1243 amazing advice I added Rep

Just a few questions....

Before you gave me this advise I installed Device Doctor which scanned my machine and found that about 8 drivers had to be updated. I have a partition that contains media so what I did was download all the updates to that folder, in some cases unzipped then, and then let the wizard install them. It seems that most of them installed without any problems such as the mouse controller. Did I do the right thing?

Basically my main question is, how do you install drivers! Is there a tutorial?

Do I remove the driver first and then install the new one? I guess I just need to install the driver and then use Guru3D to remove the remnants....

Any additional advice would be helpful thanks a lot.

OK, i think i figured it out that I have to update the driver and then remove the old...

* How do I check the version of this driver in question? Is it by control panel > Device Manager - as per the screenshot...?

If I check the properties it tells me this version: 8.15.10.1872

The only reason I ask is because I might have inadvertently installed the new driver using Device Doctor...

Thanks!

OK This is just getting weird now...

I went to Intel to search for THEIR grahphic chip called igdkmd32.sys and then allowed the Intel Service to scan my machine. Indeed it detected that there was an outdated Chip but it then states that the (their!!) device is unsupported. Any ideas where I can get this update from?? Thanks

what a mess....

all i want is an updated driver!!! How hard can that be?????

i tried to access it via panasonic but despite me giving the correct serial keys etc it just wont recognise the machine and me as a paying customer.

Its actually rather pathetic.

Does anyone know if there is a site that tells you where you can get a driver from? In this instance: igdkmd32.sys

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
