BSOD immediately after formatting to factory state

Hi All,

My Compaq laptop keeps restarting. I tried to format the hard drive and set it back to factory state but immediately after the operating system finishes to install, it says Windows has recovered from... and it restarts from time to time.

I have attached a dump file using the SF Diagnostic Tool.

Please help.

Hello there!

Seems like the error might be hardware related i.e. L1 cache error or an out-dated BIOS version. Make sure you apply all the Windows update including SP1. Please run the following CPU stress test.

CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95
Intel CPU - Diagnose

Also update the BIOS to latest version. Check this article http://captaindbg.com/bug-check-0x124-whea_uncorrectable_error-how-to-troubleshoot/ for more information on Bugcheck.

Hi Capt Jack Sparrow!!! Wow you are really famous in BSOD circles and thank you for replying, you have done a lot to help people.

Unfortunately, my screen is turning grey or blanking out randomly but especially when I try and start anything. I have formatted the harddrive several times and reinstalled original operating system. However even after operating system is installed, on first log in the "windows has recovered ..." message comes up. I cannot even install original application software because the screen then just grey's or blanks out, neither can I do the tests.

But without the test we can't reach to a conclusion.
