Yep, looks like that is indeed the cause. reventon should be posting shortly, hopefully he can find a new driver.

There are plenty of Windows 7 drivers available for it.

Feel free to go more expensive if you wish, just make sure it's compatible with Windows 7.

Ok.

Atheros is appalling at after-sale service, no official driver updates to be found anywhere.

However I did manage to find a 2009 driver for the same chipset family - from HP.

It is unconventional, to say the least, but if it does work then it will save you having to purchase a new one.

If that doesn't update it, or it stops it from working, then you would be best to buy a new adapter as Jonathan_King mentioned.
