Ok.

Atheros is appalling at after-sale service, no official driver updates to be found anywhere.

However I did manage to find a 2009 driver for the same chipset family - from HP.

It is unconventional, to say the least, but if it does work then it will save you having to purchase a new one.

Atheros Wireless LAN Driver Compaq Presario CQ60-433US Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

If that doesn't update it, or it stops it from working, then you would be best to buy a new adapter as Jonathan_King mentioned.
