Hi,

I built this computer more than 18 months ago and running trouble free until about 1 week ago. It started freezing up after just a few minutes and now does it regularly within 5 mins - 1 hour of running. I have been into EventViwer and found Critical Error Kernel-Power 41 (63) listed every time. I have not changed anything before this started happening so at first I thought it was a hardware issue. So things I have done so far:

- updated to latest BIOS
- upgraded CPU to current i5 4690K
- upgraded CPU cooler
- bought and installed a new 1000W PSU
- re-seated RAM modules in seperate slots and tested individually
- reseated GPU Card in new PCIe slot

Nothing worked!!

I have researched all of your similar threads and tried all sorts of things suggested but still no luck

I have also run a full scan on my main SDD drive and no errors found

I think this is either a driver problem or a MB hardware issue but not sure where to go from here

PLEASE HELP!!!!

PC Specs:

ASUS Formula VI LGA1150 MB
NVidia GTX590
Corsair 128GB SDD (C: Drive)
3 x 1 Tb WD HDD
8 Gb DDR5 (2 x 4Gb)
1000W Corsair PSU

Follow up information

Further to my posting above, the 2 types of BSOD screen errors - one of them is "machine_check_exception" and the other type I cant remember. However I have attached my two most recent "minidump" files as well as a copy of the details from my error reports in EventViewer

Hope these help!!!

I have now confimed that the problem is a software based problem as I did a fresh install of Win7 on a seperate drive and my computer has been running faultessly for 1 week. The problem is that my original installation has all my programs etc; installed so I need to try and repair it

Is nobody willing or able to help me on this?

On a clean install I always install all the programs clean and fresh.
I do not transfer programs for the old system.

Thanks LayBack Bear but not very helpful advice. That is a huge amount of work to reinstall all my Apps from scratch as I have more than 30 programs/games to find, download and reinstall. I thought the idea of this forum was to help Win7 users to identify and solve software problems?

You asked for help and I told you what I would do because I think it's the best way of doing things.
Now that said you don't have to follow my suggestion, it's your computer.
I know it takes a lot of time. It always take more time to do what I consider the proper way.

Their may be others that have a different way of doing things in less time. you just have to wait for one to drop by and post.

Understand what you are saying Layback Bear but if everybody followed your advice, then in principle, what's the purpose of this forum? There would be no need for this forum as and everybody would just re-install Windows 7 from scratch every time they experience a BSOD. I have seen many examples from other users who have had valuable help on this forum from very kind people who have taken the time to review the downloaded error logs and event reports and have been able to assist to identify the source of the software problem. This is all I am asking

Take a look at the following instructional.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If there are any issues, download the CBS log in your next post so others can take a look. One person who is good at troubleshooting these types of problems is NoelDP but he does frequent the local pub, and might be three sheets to the wind when he reads your thread.

Thanks for you advice HelloItsMeAgain. I did run SFC / SCANNOW from within Win 7 previously and received no errors at all. I suspect that my problem relates to a faulty Registry entry or corrupt .dll file. My download files are attached in my original posting above

What am I missing. You state you have done a fresh install and the computer works as it should.
You question is concerning moving your programs from old system to new system.

Your post #5

Are you still getting a BSOD?

Yes - I disconnected my primary SSD drive and connected a spare SATA HDD to do a fresh install of Win 7 - this was ONLY done to test my hardware. I still want to use my original SSD with everything installed once I work out what the problem is and how to fix it

Have you tried a system restore to an earlier date before the bsods?

How does it run in safemode with networking?
