Hi all,

I'm working on an HP dc7700 Small Form Factor PC. When booting the system just resets and starts over. If I'm lucky enough to get into Windows it'll happen at some random point.

During boot I'm able to read just part of the BSOD as it goes away rather quick. It says "IRQ LESS THEN OR EQUAL TO"

Per the BSOD posting instructions I've used the SF Diagnostic Tool and attached it to this post.

I've copied the dump files and error messages manually as well.

If I do happen to get into Windows, the first message that pops up is:
Windows has recovered from an unexpected error.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: a
BCP1: C0482000
BCP2: 00000000
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 82AEAAC5
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\020613-20467-01.dmp
C:\Users\Haddad\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-31059-0.sysdata.xml

In windows logs I see:
Windows Logs/System

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.

I'm not really sure what I should do from here. Any clues? Thanks in advance for any help that may be rendered. Beating my head on the desk trying to figure this one out!

Thank you!
Mateo

Welcome to SevenForums.

All your BSOD-s were caused by Norton/Symantec AutoProtect

Norton tends to cause BSOD-s. Recommend uninstalling it with the Norton Removal Tool and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials To Test.
Microsoft Security Essentials.

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software. It is free and lightweight:-
   Warning
:ar: Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

Perform a System File Check:
  1. Click on the start :orb:
  2. Type CMD on Search
  3. Left click and Run as Administrator
  4. Type SFC /scannow
Full tutorial here:

Please upload your msinfo32.txt file. To get this: Start Menu -> Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box -> When it opens, go to File, Export -> Save as msinfo32.txt and save in a place you will remember -> Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info -> Right click the .txt file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder -> Upload the .zip file here.

Thank you KoolKat! That was it! :) I followed all your steps and now the computer is booting properly.

I usually steer clear of Norton myself this particular customer seems to love it.
