Computer Specifications:

Laptop: HP 15-db1000AU

Processor: 64 bit AMD Ryzen 3 2.6 GHz

Motherboard: HP 85EA

BIOS: Insyde F.13 - AMD AGESA PicassoPI-FP5 1.0.0.6

The BIOS has also been updated to latest version

I am trying to install using a bootable USB, the computer does not have a DVD drive

While installing windows 7 64 bit Professional, after the Windows is loading progress bar, the computer freezes when the Windows logo animation starts and I get the BSOD with message "BIOS is not ACPI compatible" and code 0x000000A5

I have searched everywhere for this and all I am getting is that the motherboard does not support Windows 7, so I am turning to this forum as a last resort

The BIOS has an option called Compatibility Mode which says that when enabled it loads the Compatibility Support Module (CSM) which is needed for older OSes like Windows 7, and when disabled it will only use UEFI for booting. This is enabled by default and I am assuming it should be kept enabled. The BIOS does not have any other option related to power.

If the motherboard does not support Windows 7 then why does the BIOS have it's option? And specifically have Windows 7 in it's description?

A workaround for a similar problem in Windows XP is given here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/help/314830/stop-error-code-0x000000a5-error-when-you-are-installing-windows-xp

Is there a Windows 7 equivalent for this? Is there any possibility at all of installing Windows 7 on this computer?

As for BSOD, you have 4 parameters in brackets. What is the value of the first parameter?

The ACPI_BIOS_ERROR bug check has a value of 0x000000A5. This bug check indicates that the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) BIOS of the computer is not fully compliant with the ACPI specification.
1st parameter = 0x11 - If Parameter 1 equals 0x11, the system could not enter ACPI mode. In this situation, Parameter 2 specifies the exact problem, and the remaining parameters
2st parameter = 0x8 - ACPI failed to load DDB.
Is there even a newer BIOS for your laptop (version F.15) have you tried to upload this version? It could also help to reset the complete BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for 30 seconds and reinserting it

It might be the vega cpu you have.

You could try integrating these drivers into installation media

Win 7/Win8.1 x64 Ryzen APU/(notebook Ryzen APU) Video driver(Update 2020.01.14)

I had a look at that forum post and but I am not sure what exactly it is that I have to do next

I hadn't noticed it before but the CPU-Z software shows detail specifications as
AMD Ryzen 3 3200U with Radeon Vega Mobile GFX

The forum poster says that his drivers are for
A320 and B450 motherboards from 4 motherboard manufacturers, and 6 CPUs of 200GE / 2200G / 2400G / 3000G / 3200G / 3400G

Since my motherboard is 85EA and processor is 3200U, does that mean his drivers are not for me?

I can give it a try but my bigger problem is I am not sure what to do next.

The post has this link
B18 Driver package download link that can be integrated into the WIN7/8.1 original image: Ryzen_APU_iCafe_B18_win7_Win8.1_SHA256.7z — Yandex.Disk

but it looks like this is the full windows ISO. I tried direct downloading it but it is very slow, and I don't want to download the Yandex software that download site seems to promote.

The post also has this link
(When using this driver package in WIN7, the image or system must integrate the SHA256 patch:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46148)

but I am not sure what exactly this is.

I already have windows setup iso and just need the drivers that might potentially work with my computer and some instructions on how to integrate them with the iso

A few posts down in that same page, at post #12 there is this:

Basically the guy says he has instructions on how to assimilate my drivers with windows iso at his ftp link:

I have downloaded the link and it contains a a bunch of drivers, i think DISM, and a bat file to automate everything, but I don't know if these are the drivers I need or if I am just supposed to use his bat script and find drivers for my computer myself

Sorry for the long post. In short, is there a more step to step guide on how to integrate my drivers with the windows 7 iso? And a link specifically to the driver collection taht I need? I couldn't seem to find it in the forum post you shared. Thanks.

Hi

Been hunting around seems like your F13 and the F15a bios choices for this option are hidden setting

It would therfor require a Bios mod to unlock them.

This driver also can work on laptops, but bios from the laptops must support csm and fully acpi.

It will depend on your bios.

You can try the drivers. Maybe it will work.

If it doesn't work, you could ask at win raid if they can help with a bios mod.

You can integrate the drivers into the install.wim ( image 3 for professional) using dism++.

Then it is easier to use win10 bootable media to apply the image 3 from install.wim to the hard disk.

Here is win10 bootable media you can use
183x64.iso
