Hi there people,
I'm having a BSOD problem. In as much detail that I can, I will explain what my problem is.

I was playing a game called Bridge It (Plus) and then went to grab dinner halfway through playing, when I got back I noticed that my screen had gone black (As in switched off). What had actually happened was my system had rebooted and come up with "This system has not be shut down correctly" and gave me the options of safe mode or normal. So I clicked on normal and after it had loaded the Windows screen (The animated Windows logo) it rebooted my PC again instead of loading up my log in screen. Now every time I do this it reboots so now I'm in Safe Mode typing this message right now.

I will include the minidump file and if any more questions are needing an answer i'll be here waiting.

Thanks for your time people

Hi MJSziklai :).
The bug check uploaded is 0x116 (TDR = Timeout Detection Recovery), please confirm that it's the same
bug check you're getting each time you're trying to normally access the Windows environment.
Also we need more information so please follow;
http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

To check what bug check code(s) you're getting;
Follow this tutorial and select Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure that way it won't restart
right away and you can snap a picture of the BSOD.

Upload it here.

Ok so i followed what you said and it confirms that i have the STOP: 0x00000116 error on the blue screen...... i also followed someone that also had the problem and related to graphics drivers so i uninstalled the GPU driver and then rebooted windows..... it allowed me into normal mode and windows then started looking for a driver for my GPU and asked me to reboot. Then once i had rebooted windows my problem then started all over again so now i'm back to square 1.

Well if you confirmed that you indeed have a the same 0x116 every time I'll take you word for it,
no need for a picture :) (for future reference, yes using a camera of some sort it doesn't matter which whether a phone or an SLR).
I need more information, are the system specifications listed in your profile correct and up to date?

Thanks :) .
In that case I would first try known stale release.

Please follow this detailed quote and update the driver.
   Note
Recent developments makes noting not to install GeForce Experience as well.

Install the 314.22 WHQL only.

  • Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features
    • 3D Vision Control Driver
    • 3D Vision Driver
    • Graphics Driver
    • HD Audio Driver
    • PhysX
    • nvidia Update
(Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
  • Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
  • Boot normally now. Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

Let us know if it boots with the configuration above.

Have you considered the possibility of defective hardware?
Are you suspicious of something other then the GPU itself, has something changed?

What is the Make, Model and age of your PSU (power supply)?
Try a different PCI-e slot.

Let us know :) .

My current PSU is an Antec Earthwatts 750w , and about a year ago had a buzzing noise coming from it but stopped after a couple of days. So I ordered an xfx black edition 750w but have never needed to use it, I will install this later today when I get back home after work.

The PCI-e slot a.k.a the motherboard :\ .
Try switching between them again to verify that it wasn't a coincidence.

Is that enough of a confirmation in your eyes?
If you want to cover all bases you can try the GPU in a different PCI-e x16 slot,
truly running in x16 mode not like the gray slot in your motherboard which is wired as x4,
in a different system/motherboard, but I doubt it's the problem.

The slot, but we won't be able to solely blame it on the slot unless you try running the card in true x16 mode.
