Ehhh hell ! :- )

Anyway

I bought new GPU. Titan X. Plug it in. Hell begun. Crash after crash nightmare. Anyway 6 months down the line I tried

2x CPu
2x Mobo
2xRam
2x PSu
3x GPu
5xHDD

And errors still happen...

So here are some of errors... any hints as to what is wrong? :- )

Dont have any BSOD's, did format yesterday...mmm maybe bit longer than yesterday :- ) :- ( Only got crashes for now. But that prog did find some issues O_o. I'll post them asap !

Added file to 1st post, thank sorry for missing it !

With vred hangs is during the render. Software render for random number of time get to random % and then it hangs. CPU then drops from 99% to 6-12% and stays there for ever :- ( THis never happen before in last 3 years :- (

Unfortunately there are only two dumps in your upload, one is a 0x124 error but the dump is corrupt so analysis of it will not complete
The other is a 0x117 Video TDR error (basically the same as a 0x116) blaming your NVidia drivers for the crash (driver dated Nov 14)

I'm sure you have tried much of this already but I will list some of the things you can try

Reset bios to defaults and/or update bios
Uninstall/reinstall driver using http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/83814-drivers-clean-left-over-files-after-uninstalling.html
Uninstall the driver as above and try an older/different version
Run Furmark to stress test your gfx card and check for any temperature issues
Confirm DX version installed

Heres a handy guide for info on 0x116/117 errors with lots of info links
http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...op-0x116-video_tdr_error-troubleshooting.html

On a slight side note I notice you have a couple pieces of hardware that do not have drivers installed

Hey

Thanks for info !

I just did another format. As in last 6 months I always used the 2 DVD I got from MS with windows and that they are from 2009 I decided to download new ISO and try never version. I did a lot of reinstall/driver reinstall sadly nothing helps. Even now with fresh windows and few programs installed I'm getting app hangs :- ((( such nightmare!

Is there any way that I can provide you the apphang details?

The devices missing drivers are now disabled.

Weirdest stuff ever.

I installed windows
Nvidia drivers
Restart
It hangs on loading logo screen and it appers to be frozen crashed. How on earth did it crash on windows load :- ((( with nothing more than windows and drivers :- (

I have 12 gb DMP file from crashed app. Is there any way I can strip it down and send it to you for analisys ?

Regards

Dariusz

Last error is a 0x7A KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

This is generally related to memory problems - HDD (pagefile) or RAM but can also be caused by storage controller errors/bad sata cables etc

The fact it happens after such a fresh install can only mean you are carrying across a bad driver or the issue is hardware related, did you try different/older gfx drivers to see if any improvements ?

Not really 100% what to suggest other than working through hardware tests to confirm functionality of components starting with HDD & RAM

Im going to post this thread to the rest of the BSOD team and see if any of them have any thoughts

Yeah tricky!

I tried up to 5 hhds.

M.2 Samsung sm951 512 gb
SSD samsung something
WD RE 3 500gb
Etc etc

Its very frustrating.

As I have now second brand new from shop ram 8 gb and is getting errors. No matter what HDD/driver I try to get./install I get apphangs :- (

I noticed that the page file was indeed being corrupted by something as after restart my license for software did not work. Not until I found out in Local > Security > something to wipe out virtual memory/page file on each restart which fixed the problem. < Scratch that still got licensing errors :- ((

Currently windows is on M.2 so there are no cables :- (

It feels that any longer renders 5-10min+ and I will get apphang. Anything short mostly works without a problem...

Dariusz

Dariusz, have you tried installing without the M.2 installed? When your motherboard was made, there were no M.2 SSDs, so it is possible the M.2 is not supported.

Also, please go into your BIOS and give us the values of the +12V, +5V and +3.3V.

Have you tried a different graphics card in your computer? If so, which one, and did you have the same problems?

Hey

The m.2 socket is on the motherboard. The driver was already talked about on net and it is "supported". Beside It was working for 3 months 100% stable with no issues at all.

It only started when I replaced my GPU from GTX 680 to Titan X both EVGA gpus.

One thought keep moving in my head is if I have some kind of weird static damage that is in my case like virus... its weird right? :- )

I tried

EVGA GTX 680 Classified 4 gb
EVGA TITAN X SC
EVGA TITAN X SC

Yeah 2x Titan x. Always have issues.

For some time I moved the TITAN X to my old wokstation for 2 weeks. Had 0 problems all was stable like hell. So I dont think its card related! :- (

Now I cant even boot. The windows just stops at booting logo. Had to reset it now 4x before it went in. Alsso some times The PC wont even go past initial bios stage. Just give me that American Something logo and all stays black .Started when I added CIntiq 27 to the system that has USB connection...

I will do another format today. But this time I will put my GTX 680 in and do it using my old GPU. Will see if I can get the system stable on my old GPU. If it will be stable then it means the MOBO is incompatible with GPU maybe, not sure!

Thanks for help info !

I have tried 2x PSU so I don't think its PSU related... will get you voltages soon.

Unless both of my PSU's drops the voltage. But then the second PSU is supporting 2x Xeon system OC to 4ghz 6 core for past 4 years and it was 100% stable.

Just for a test, when you do the clean install, let Windows install as many drivers as it will and use those. Do not install any software at all, use Microsoft Security essentials ((http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/security-essentials-download) for an AV. Install the Nvidia driver, but select Custom install, make sure the 'Clean Install' box is checked and install only the Display Driver and the PhysX driver, nothing else. See if that is any better. Just as close to a pure Windows install and nothing else as we can get. Then run all of the Updates. You may have to install the LAN driver if Windows doesn't.

I did

2x:
Install Windows
Let all updates update Except for Nvidia drivets
Install Drivers

more than 5x:

Install Windows
Let all updates update Except for Nvidia drivets
Install Drivers
Install Vred
Install PS
Install 1 game.

Start them all.

With no Antivirus or anything. Just basic stuff.

I even installed windows, dint update, added vred, ps and crashed it then...

I just updated by bios to newest version. Will see if that helps.

If no I will do ur suggestion tomorrow or so. Sadly I only have 2 days left then I'm going away for xmass :- ((( so I will be back to this issue later on.

Anyway thanks for help !

Hey

Back to testing!

You have confused me a little bit here soo... Here is what I did

1st connected my old trusted PSU, used brand new RAM and new HDD I purchased for testing.

I wonder if I Had static/power surge damage that damaged all components when I put in new GPU... anyway.

Install windows including SP1
Install NVidia drivers
Install Vred
Run render for 24h
100% stable.
Install all Updates from windows update centre.
run Render for 24h.
100% stable.

Install chipset drivers

Run render for 24h 100% stable.

Install USB drivers, restart. Crash on boot up.

Restart

Started up.

Shut down.

Start up again + smash delete key to go to bios.

Fail to boot, only got American Megatrends logo and blank frozen screen.

I figured I would go to bios and check USB settings and my razer mouse was not responding when I changed USB port.

Anyway.

Back to windows, started vred render left it for 5h 100%stable.

Now I was suspecting that the crash happens with user input. So I actually had to do stuff on PC otherwise it passess all the tests. In any case.

5h down the test I plugged in my phone to USB 2.0 port to charge up. 10 seconds later crash.

Looks to me like its USB drivers related issue but not sure.

BSOD was 024 which related to HDD.. .frustrating ! As its brand new SSD!

Attached the file.

I will run another test in a minute. Same set up start render. Let cpu hit 100% for 10-20 min and I'll try plugging in my phone again.

If it crash then I will uninstall intell USB 3.0 drivers. Will see if that will help.

Thanks every one for help !

Regards

Dariusz

Update

So the render is going 100% I plugged in my phone and it did not crash... ehh..

BUT Before I plug in my phone I was looking at screen and all over sudden I got this ! > Attached <
DSC_0025.jpg

So yea wow. Out of nowhere I got this :- ( and then I could not shut down LCD using LCD on/off button ! Its like the software was crashed ! I unplugged the main power/plug in back in LCD went back to normal.

On top of that the render still goes 100% and phone connected fine ehhh !

I'll look at the files in a minute. But, if you mean an 0X124 BSOD, that does not mean a hard drive. It means a hardware error of some type or a very bad driver that causes the hardware to act like it is failing/has failed.

That was why I asked not to install anything other than what Windows installs. To try to be reasonably assured that it is a hardware problem and not a driver problem. Also, when you say Render, that sounds like a graphics program. You need to test for stability with a program such as Prime95, AIDA, Intel Burn Test or something made for stability. Those programs are designed to test for system stability. Graphics stability can be done with a program like Ungine Heaven or Furmark.

Where did you get the ISO file you installed with?

Please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Hey

Thanks for fast reply !

The error is 000000024 more or less 0os..

The windows I got from.
1x DVD Backup from digital purchase from microsoft store
1x DVD Backup from digital purchase from microsoft store
they are from around 2009 year more or less.

Lately I tried to download another one from microsoft web but upon typing my serrials on MS website I was presented with korean and some other language versions only.. which is pretty weird as I bought my windowsses off UK MS store...

anyway I downloaded latest SP I could find from "internet" and used trial to install for testing purposes...

I tried sfc /scannow lots of time. Never fix anything.

The erros I'm getting are always random :- ((

The last one points to Display ? so the LCD can cause crash? I read somewhere that it is possible but uhh...

I'm so freaked that I already replaced every sata cable, DVI cable, HDMI, display port etc etc to brand new ones...

The renders that I run are CPU based so math calculation. I did stress test the system for 48h using different programs and different programs running at the same time. They do not cause crash. Only time when I crash is when I use the system actively like workstation. ;- (

I run like 14 copies of heavens benchmark, Aida stress, prime, memtesst and some other at the same time. cpu, ram gpu all was 100% even hdds. But 48h later I start clicking and doing stuff and I get crash ! :- ( In chrome browsing 9gag :- (

That was why I asked not to install anything other than what Windows installs.

Currently all I have is :

Windows
NV drivers
all windows updates that were recommended and optional.
Chipset drivers
USB drivers- that caused crash sort off maybe well it failed to do 1st boot up after installation?

Were I meant not to install windows updates? I did test using only windows + NV drivers but the render was 100% stable. So I guess must be driver issue?

I would never use a download except from Microsoft. Anything else is usually a cracked copy and you don't know what has been done with it. Official Microsoft download are few and far between now. Use the Microsoft DVD and just do all of the Updates including SP1. That is the only way you will know for sure that the install is complete and correct. Windows Update will install most of the drivers other than USB 3.0. Do without that for a while until you see if the problem is the same. Once you find it stable, add one driver or program at a time, testing in between, to make sure it is stable. That is the long way around, I know. But, if you do it that way, when you start having problems again, you will know exactly which driver or program caused it.

Don't install anything at first other than Microsoft Security Essentials. It is the only AV that has never caused a BSOD. You have replaced almost everything in the computer except the Motherboard as I recall. It is possible that is the problem. Are you absolutely certain you do not have a bent CPU socket pin? That can cause all kinds of problems. Yes, it is possible a monitor caused the BSOD, but extremely unlikely. To Windows, usually a display device is the graphics card. If you will go to Device Manager and look under Display Adapters, you will see your Graphics card listed.

Hey

Agree 100% regarding source of ISO. But it was from link from some website like Technology reviews, advice, videos, news and forums - PC Advisor or tomshardware. Not sure it was more than a week a go. But I did not think it was a dodgy copy as then they would have a lot of problem with MS I'd imagine... still yeah the chance exists...

Anyway this is exactly what I did now. Installing 1 by 1 driver and testing in between. Latests driver that I put in was USB but also I did more than just render. As I went on seven forum and connected my phone... but not sure as it did crash on 1st restart after USB driver installation.

Will uninstall the USB drivers and run tests again. Its very hard to diagnose it as every format, different error happens and its all un-repeatable :- (

Thanks for help ! Will let you know how it goes without drivers.

Regards

Dariusz

The versions you were offered, if one was Windows 7N, that is the EU version and most likely the one you have or should have in the UK. It is everything except Media Center and ie, I think. That was caused by an EU court decision forcing MSFT to remove them. I think that is the only difference. I can find the 'Media Refresh' installer that replaces everything removed making it be the same as the US version even though it will say the N version.
