I've had my lenovo Z510 for over a year now and I've never had a BSOD issue. Recently i upgraded my bios to v40 although I didn't have the CPU 0.77 GHz issue. I don't even know if my problem is related to this but I don't recall any other recent changes to my system except for installing the new graphic card updates.
BSOD happens when I do random stuff. sometimes when I'm browsing the net sometimes when I'm watching sth on VLC and sometimes my laptop just doesn't wake up from sleep. no error messages and no actual BLUE screens per se. just everything freezes and I have to push Power button for several seconds for it to shut down.
things I've done:
I've rolled back to all the OEM drivers except for the graphic drivers on a freshly installed Windows. BSOD happened again.
I've done the CPU stress test with no errors (although I only did it for about 5 hours)
I did the GPU test with Furmark. No errors.
I've done the Western Digital Lifeguard Diagnostics tool just to find out my HDD has no errors
I've done the Integrity Violation check on cmd and nothing was found
Sweeped my HDD for Viruses and Malware by Antivirus and malwarebytes. Nothing was found.
I've formatted my HDD and installed A fresh Windows 7 x64 today. BSOD happened again. like 4 times.
I've done a couple of other things which I can't recall but right now I am completely out of ideas. Surrely there is a solution in those 1001 pages of BSOD threads so I'm sorry if I'm double posting by any chance. I'd really appreciate if someone could help me.
PS 1: Just as I was about to hit "Submit", another BSOD happened! thank god chrome restored whatever I typed
PS 2: As I said this Windows is freshly installed and it doesn't have some of the latest OS updates installed but I don't think that's the issue since the previous OS versions (which I installed these past few days) were all updated but the same BSOD still happened.
