BSOD ntoskrnl.exe IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Morning guys,

I have been getting BSOD's off and on on this machine for some time. Recently they have been getting more frequent.
Computer passes memtest. I read that this could be bad keyboard cable shorting to ground?

Any help would be appreciated. File attached, let me know if you need anything else.

Are there any hardware changes made to the laptop?



Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
   • Double click the executable to open it
   • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

I did install the new SSD, but the BSOD predated that. A full system restore was done at that time.

Per the logs your laptop has a mixed memory setup, this setup could cause a lot of problems that may be difficult to identify IMO which is why I asked if any hardware changes have been made.
Just to note, memory doesn't have to be faulty in the case of mixed memory. Memory with different makes/models are made differently, the timing, voltage, frequency or any other spec may vary what may cause problems. Even if the specs are exactly the same, the way they are made is different.

Hmmm..... I had not thought of that one.

I had hoped to avoid replacing the RAM as two of the slots are on the opposite side of the board requiring complete disassembly.

I guess I know what I am doing this weekend. I guess it was time to clean the heat sinks and reapply TIM anyways
