Hi guys, I came here before was able to get help. Thought I was try again with a new problem and different machine. It's a Sony VAIO Laptop 2.4GHz C2D with 4GB of RAM running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. I wasn't sure exactly what other specs to post as I have a minidump file. I get the BSOD about once a week. Dunno what it could be. Hoping someone could help, I've done 2 online scans separate from my on system a/v. Found nothing. So I'm here :)

If I have inadvertently included Microsoft Drivers, they can be ignored.

How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

Did not do a full review, looks like Intel Driver is the cause. Update drivers and if BSOD returns, repost

Thanks very much richc46. :) Updated WiFi driver to Intel's latest. Had a quick question about your suggestion to update the other list of drivers; is it a good idea to update drivers that aren't provided by my laptop manufacturer or does it matter?

Hey Cruzz.
The drivers that I listed are outdated, makes no difference who provided them originally. You go to the website of the manufacturer, look for the most up to date and download.

If you have a driver that was provided by your laptop mfg, then go to that website. If you have an Intel card, go to the Intel site, etc.

May I suggest, before each install you make a system restore point, if things go wrong or you make a mistake, with system restore you can go back and start over.

Any drivers manufacterd by Microsoft you can ignore.

Here is the first one

You can find it at the Conexant, website

Try the computer, the actual cause given was the network card. The BSOD may be gone. But you should update the drivers anyway. If the BSOD is fixed, you can do a few drivers at at a time.
