I'm not very computer savvy and was hoping someone here can help me out.

My Laptop is a brand new Asus G73JW-A1...less than 2 weeks old. I've been getting some random BSODs while just browsing the internet. I believe it may have something to do with my USB slots? I've noticed on 2 occasions the BSOD would read USB BUGCODE ERROR. I'm currently using a USB mouse with this laptop.

I performed a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium less than a week ago to get rid of all the bloatware. I only installed the essential drivers from the recovery disc.

Here is my information

- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64-bit
- the original installed OS on the system? No...did a fresh install of Windows
- an OEM or full retail version? OEM
- OEM = came pre-installed on system
- Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

- What is the age of system (hardware)? 2 weeks
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) 5 days

I believe I've attached the appropriate files. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Start by removing Avast with this tool: http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear5.exe

Replace it with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

What USB devices do you have attached?

I am using a USB mouse that came with my laptop. I have also used a Transcend flash drive to transfer files. That's it.

My laptop has an Nvidia GTX460M card. I also see no status icons in my device manager

My laptop just crashed again. No BSOD though...everything just locked up and I had to it to shutdown. I just uninstalled avast and will install MSE and the driver you recommended.

Thanks for the help!
