Hello, I have recently got a new processor, motherboard, ram, cooler and hard drive. I have installed all of them and installed a fresh new Windows 7 install on it. I have since installed all my basic drivers; motherboard, graphics card, network adapter etc but I have gone away from my PC and when I've come back I am greeted with the message "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shut down" so it's not something that I'm doing that's causing it. I am presuming it's something to do with my hardware.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

Hello and welcome John now before we start on the dump files which are mentioning something about Genuine Intel could you let us know what Windows media did you use on the new motherboard because if it was an OEM for the old mobo without Microsoft's ok you cannot use it on a new board. If the media is retail then no problems.

There is just one other little thing you have a problem device listed in msinfo32 see pic might be an idea to get that driver installed.

Hello, thanks for the warm welcome and reply.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by Windows Media. I will assume you're referring to my operating system. I have installed Windows 7 Home Premium onto a new hard drive when I installed the new mobo and it was the same disk and activation code I used. With the Ethernet driver I disabled it because I had reason to believe it was interfering with my network adapter (USB). I am not currently using Ethernet and since disabling that driver my network adapter seems to be doing fine. Would it be an idea to completely uninstall and remove this driver from my PC?

You can also see attached my Windows 7 activation seems to have worked fine unless there's something I'm missing.

Again thanks for your reply so far, would love to get this resolved :D

Ok sorry late reply John mate yes what I meant by media was the Windows DVD an OEM or retail version. Because an OEM version is tied to the first board it is installed on and cannot be used on a new board without Microsoft giving the ok to do so.
For example if the original board died you would phone Microsoft tell them your predicament and (to be fair to them) they usually let you use that OEM with its' own code on the new board. If you did this more than say twice then they would not so helpful.
Now if the DVD is a retail version then it could be used on a new board without their permission but only for one machine at a time. This is of course because the retail version is that much more expensive.

The driver for the Ethernet is not a problem then I would guess there is some form it works in when the system was installed.
Now am not sure what the dumps are showing but can you recheck the CPU is propperly seated and the cooler also a snug fit because there are some pointers to a CPU problem from some searches I have made

That's fine, I'm just glad that I have someplace to get some assistance. I also have noticed that these blue screens only happen when I am away from my computer. Not once have I witnessed any of the blue screens but just come back to my computer saying "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shut down" and I have since got a few more since posting my original logs. I will make sure to take a look at my cooler and CPU fitting to make sure they're in properly and I will get back to you once I have done so and see if the blue screens still occur.

Again, thanks for the assistance so far, greatly appreciated ^.^

ICIT2LOL, the data you post is pretty much the standard output from a 0x124 and in the case of a 0x124 doesn't show anything useful :( Have you received my PM about the 0x124? :)

With a 0x124, you can view the problem with the !errrec command on the 'Address of the WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure'
Code:
WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (124)ifies the type of error
source that reported the error. Parameter 2 holds the address of the
WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure that describes the error conditon.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000000, Machine Check Exception
Arg2: [COLOR="red"]fffffa8012610028[/COLOR], Address of the WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure.
Arg3: 00000000bf800000, High order 32-bits of the MCi_STATUS value.
Arg4: 0000000000200401, Low order 32-bits of the MCi_STATUS value
In this case it is an internal error that hasn't been documented publicly (internal unclassified), this means that we have to go back to the standard troubleshooting process for the 0x124. Fortunately this standard troubleshooting process does often find the root cause in a 0x124 :)
I would suggest to read the instructions below.

Thanks for your reply axe0, after looking all over I can't find the forum inbox, please forgive me if I'm just being blind :P

Thanks for the clear instructions I shall do the less time consuming tests over the course of the day and do the ram test overnight, if it doesn't BSOD that is :S With the HDD test am I to run that on my SSHD or just the 2 HDD's that I have?

Thanks again :)

Have you received my PM about the 0x124? :)

Sorry, I am used to PM standing for Personal Message which would usually be held in a forum inbox. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks for the clarification too, I'll make sure to carry these tests out :)

Sorry late reply axe yes mate I got the info.

John the memtest axe has suggested is a start and just because I ma pedantic about starting with the simple stuff can you run this pleas and post back findings on the PSU it look sot be pretty new but all the same that is where I lieto strat when tracking down hardare stuff - use PART A:

Using HW Info
PART A:
You can test the volts on the PSU with HW Info
HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download <download the right bit version and close the right hand window select Sensorsand scroll down to the power section where you will see what the volts aredoing see my pic. Now the section you want will be labelled - fpr example Asusboards usually have "Nuvoton" and Gigabyte boards "ITE" inany case the section you want will have Vbatt or VBAT in it (dead give away)
The original right hand window shows the machine running and is handy for thatbut for looking at the components in some detail close it and use the main lefthand side panel
FOR OTHER COMPONENTS
PART B:
